50m M/Y Ouranos launched by Admiral

8th April 2016
IYC is proud to have been closely involved in the build of one of the superyacht fleet’s most exciting new launches, 50m Ouranos. Launched for an experienced owner at the beginning of April by Admiral – The Italian Sea Group, this unique displacement design is the first in the shipyard’s new C Force 50 line, built from steel and aluminium. Designed by Uniellé Yacht Design with her interior by Gian Marco Campanino and Admiral Centro Stile, the yacht’s build was project managed by IYC.

Ouranos’ captain, Theodore Goulas, was heavily involved in her build, working together with the IYC project management team to ensure a perfect end-result for the yacht’s happy owner. “It is very exciting to see Ouranos on the water because she is such a unique project,” says Goulas. “From the beginning we wanted the boat to be modern and classic and for people to recognise her as Ouranos wherever she goes.”

Thanks to her striking and aggressive lines, Ouranos’ distinctive design will undoubtedly make her stand out amongst her peers. Boasting a generous volume, whilst remaining under 500GT, all spaces are well-proportioned and beautifully designed. Her contemporary interior epitomises the feeling of ‘less is more’. “The quality of work on board is excellent, with beautiful materials and a dark and white colour scheme, which means she looks very modern,” says Goulas. 12 guests will be housed in the utmost comfort with the six cabins including a huge master suite and three VIPs. All guest decks are conveniently connected with an elevator, allowing easy access across all spaces. Communal areas include two large saloons and the main and upper deck. A stand out design feature is the full headroom windows that run between both saloons, which offer incredible uninterrupted views. “The yacht’s interior has unrestricted views of the ocean and sun-filled spaces and the overall feeling is wonderful,” says Goulas.

Multiple exterior spaces include a huge open beach club terrace aft, which incorporates a wellness hub that is home to a gym and massage corner. The aft cockpit boasts large spaces for sunbathing, with extra guest spaces found on the upper aft deck and sundeck, and the sundeck’s feutures including a Jacuzzi with stretching views across the water.

Ouranos has joined the IYC charter fleet and following delivery will enjoy a summer of cruising in the Mediterranean before before being exhibited at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show. Designed to be able to explore the world, Ouranos is capable of Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic crossing with a range of 6000nm at 11knots. A busy cruising itinerary lies ahead of her including time in the Caribbean following her maiden season in the Mediterranean.

Designed to suit her owners and charter guests alike, Ouranos is fully-equipped for her guests’ enjoyment. Her impressive line up of toys numbers a mini submarine, water slide, Jet Pack, Fly Board and three tenders including a 14m Technohull Omega 41, capable of reaching an incredible 70knots. Creating unforgettable memories for guests will be a priority for Goulas and his crew, with Ouranos set to become one of the most popular charter yachts around. “Ouranos is a yacht that will be a pioneer in the charter market,” says Goulas. We are going to establish a new and unmatched charter status, we want to make the difference for our guests.”
