Newly rebuilt J Craft Torpedo Aqua Draco for sale with IYC

IYC is delighted to announce that it has listed the 12.53m (41.43’) J Craft Torpedo for sale, presented by Leo Jordil, Sales Consultant of IYC Monaco. This beautiful vessel is currently undergoing a full rebuild, under the project name Aqua Draco, and will be in as-new condition when she relaunches in May 2018. The rebuild is fully custom, with her colour tones chosen as a tribute to the J Class Svea, the newest member of the J Class fleet which launched in 2017. Svea was originally designed by Swedish duo Tore Holm and August Plyms son Gustav, according to John Lammerts van Bueren, that found the drawing in 1999. Final  execution of this drawing was done by Andre Hoek before completion of Svea.

The J Craft Torpedo design embodies the J Craft Philosophy of ‘grace on the water’, combining exceptional performance with classic and timeless lines. Developed in Sweden J Craft combines beautiful designs, meticulous construction and exquisite materials, all hand worked by the finest craftsmen. Designed to suit the harsh inland climate of Sweden, the J Craft designs draw on a long Swedish heritage for life on the water, dating all the way back to the Vikings.

The first J Craft Torpedo, dubbed a ‘modern icon’, was launched to much acclaim in 1999 and this distinctive motor cruiser design has proved enduringly popular ever since. Each Torpedo build is hand finished throughout and the level of detail is evident in every inch of every build, with the yard’s high quality building process including details such as no less than 18 coats of lacquer applied to the deck. High quality suppliers include steering wheels by Nardi, suppliers to classic Ferrari’s, Aqua Draco is a particularly special example thanks to her high levels of customisation at the behest of her passionate owner. Eco-friendly elements throughout her design only add to the appeal.

Aqua Draco is ideally suited as a standalone craft, equally at home undertaking adventurous short trips as she is moored in a cosmopolitan harbor, or as a complementary vessel to a larger yacht. Able to sleep four guests plus one captain, she features two guest cabins and a wet room. The main deck is well equipped with cooking and food storage equipment, sunpads, and entertainment system and seating for the ultimate base at sea. An optional bimini on the main deck allows protection for the sun in hotter climates, with more extensive coverage also available if required.

The yacht is incredibly stable with easy acceleration, moving effortlessly through the water, and is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 500 engines. IPS joystick control allows the boat to move forwards, backwards and in all directions with just the lightest touch. She cruises at 35knots with a range of 350nm at 43 knots, allowing fast and easy access to your destination.

In the owner’s own words “My take is really to make a tribute to Swedish Ships-building by doing this as SVEA was drawn by Swedish hands and the J Craft brand origins from here. Even though both yachts have a story of their own, I strongly believe they share a common vision of elegance at sea”. I have used the exact colour codes for Svea to make the perfect match.” Ideally suited to a buyer looking for a yacht with character, style and performance and equal measures, Aqua Draco is an exciting new addition to the IYC fleet.
