James – also known as Jim – has had a close association with the water for most of his life, having been introduced to boating at a young age and enjoying club racing on the Charleston Harbour as a child. After studying architecture at university James joined the navy before moving into various maritime roles including heavy marine construction, commercial fishing, charters, sail and power yacht deliveries, all of which provided him with an invaluable knowledge base for his later move into brokerage.

After beginning his brokerage career in 1980 in Annapolis, James moved to and has been based in Palm Beach since 1993, joining an international brokerage firm in 1995. Having enjoyed a successful career as a sales broker and built a reputation for sales excellence with his large client base, James now brings his many years of experience to IYC.

James specializes in sales of all types of yachts – motor and sail – and working with clients on the entire yachting process, including sales, purchase, charter and new construction. Having completed sales of yachts up to 78.6m (258’) to date, James is well placed to advise on yachts of all sizes. Thanks to his design and architecture background, he is passionate about new construction projects and particularly enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their dream build.
