Strong start to 2018 for IYC with several sales completed

26th February 2018
IYC has had an extremely strong start to 2018, with an impressive eight sales announced in the first two months of the year. The biggest of these yachts was 57.91m Skyfall, followed by 55.4m Turquoise, 54m Starfire and 47.24m Abbracci. IYC was also named "The Most Active Brokerage House” by Boat International for the week beginning 19 February, with no less than four sales completed by IYC in a single week.
These recent sales are a tangible demonstration of IYC cementing its position as a market-leading brokerage house. In the two and a half years since IYC announced its rebrand the company has gone from strength to strength, expanding its team, opening new offices to increase its extensive global network, and proving the team’s calibre of knowledge in all sectors of the yachting market. “IYC has fully completed its integration period and is unleashing its full potential in sales and charter on a global basis,” says Michel Chryssicopoulos, IYC Company Managing Partner. IYC continues to invest in its company and team, with recent developments including the new Palm Beach and Miami offices, many well-known Sales and Charter Consultants joining the IYC ranks, and the development of the company’s proprietary yacht management software BLUE.

IYC brokers are optimistic that this positive beginning to 2018 is indicative of a busy year ahead for the company, as buyer confidence grows and clients actively seek out high calibre yachts such as those listed in the IYC Sales Fleet. "Considering that the U.S. stock market has been enjoying an upswing for the past eight years, with tremendous growth in 2017, I am not surprised that megayachts of Skyfall’s calibre are being sought out in the brokerage market,” says Frank Grzeszczak, IYC Sales Consultant and US Partner. “When the global financial crisis hit, it was a buyers market and in many cases, if owners were unwilling to sell at a very low price they simply held onto the yachts. Now, almost a decade later, investors are feeling more at ease and it is a seller’s market and I’m confident that it’s going to be a great year for the brokerage business!"

Michael Rafferty, Sales and Charter Consultant, concurs: “Right now the economy in the USA is very strong, and the economy in Europe is improving too, and it is a good time to invest in hard assets,” he says. “Economy and stock markets are booming, and so is the yachting industry,” adds Katya Grzeszczak, Sales and Charter Consultant. “Product is moving, inventory is ever-changing, shipyard new order books are full, it's a very healthy market and we expect it to remain this way for 2018 and far beyond.”

The IYC team is proud of this sales activity and is moving into the next few months with equal ambition. Looking forward to the rest of 2018, IYC has a busy calendar ahead and a fleet of exciting yachts for sale and charter on offer. Upcoming events include the Palm Beach International Boat Show, held 22 - 25 March, where IYC will have eleven beautiful yachts on display.
