Built by Proteksan Turquoise Yachts in 2008 Kinta (ex Vinydrea) is a prime example of pedigree Turkish construction. Having undergone a major refit in 2010-2011 she has been beautifully maintained and is the epitome of a stylish and well-built yacht. Kinta comfortably accommodates twelve guests in six staterooms.
Her refit saw interior designer Jean Guy Verges create an all new contemporary and sophisticated interior style. Key design elements include stunning dark Wenge flooring, with matching leather in the main salon and owner’s suite; new ceilings in soft light camel color Italian leather; new textiles of ‘milk white’ and ‘ice white’; and dark leathers as a central feature in the owner’s quarters and main stairs. These rich, elegant furnishings and features all combine to create a beautiful interior space for guests.
Kinta is able to welcome 12 guests in six staterooms: the master, VIP, three doubles and one twin. The owner’s space is particularly impressive, making use of the full beam to create a large and private space with floor to ceiling windows filling the space with light and providing 180 degree views. A centerline main king bed is complemented by a private study and lounge, oversized walk in wardrobes, and direct access to the forward deck. The full beam VIP cabin is another impressive space, with its own lounge and large ensuite with Jacuzzi. Four further guest staterooms offer equally large and beautifully styled spaces for guests to retreat to. An elevator and main staircase connect all guest decks for easy movement around the yacht.
A large main salon provides an impressive communal space with its modern design and floor to ceiling windows. The salon leads directly out to the main aft deck which is oversized and boasts a host of features including a large pool/spa with glass waterfall, flanked by two staircases that provide direct access to the bathing platform which also converts into a large terrace and boarding deck. The upper deck is home to an extensive formal dining set up, together with the sky lounge, pantry and the wheelhouse. The sundeck provides yet more outdoor space with a large Jacuzzi, sunpads, sunloungers, a full gym and spa cabin, and retractable awning for protection from the sun when required.
Cruising at 14 knots, with a maximum speed of 16 knots, Kinta is powered by twin 1750hp CAT engines with a range of 4000nm. She carries a large complement of toys and tenders including a 9m GRP towing tender that is perfect for guest travel and watersports alike. High speed satellite internet and WiFi throughout the vessel ensure seamless connection when on board, and all main guest spaces boast advanced entertainment and AV systems. Mark Elliott was born in Miami, and quickly developed a passion for sailing. At 18, he delivered a 48’ Grand Banks from Miami to Alaska and subsequently earned his Captain’s license. At 24, he met Bernie Little and went on to Captain and manage the most successful fleet of charter yachts afloat for 18 years. As General Manager of Florida Yacht Basin he developed the shipyard into the largest megayacht paint and repair facility on the East Coast. Next, Mark took over the Allied Marine Shipyard, a Hatteras, Azimut and Benetti dealership with over $30 million in inventory and 110 employees. With over 20 years of running and managing yachts, Mark turned his attention to selling and marketing them with IYC. His insight, experience and advice are some of the most valuable in the industry, and part of what makes IYC an ideal yacht consultancy.
A New York Native, Kevin Bonnie learned to sail at an early age. After graduating from college in New York, he went to sea on yachts and served as deck hand, chef, engineer, first mate and Captain. Kevin returned ashore as a yacht broker in the Pacific Northwest and used his training in both business and yachting to build a reputation for integrity, honesty and going the extra mile for his clients. After a two year interlude in the financial markets of Wall Street and London, Kevin moved to the south of France to pursue his dream of selling megayachts. After three years with Monaco Marine, learning the European market and studying French intensively, he launched and is now managing partner of IYC’s original European office. He enjoys working and living in Monte Carlo while taking care of all his global clientele.
