77.4m (253’11’’) M/Y Legend joins IYC Sales Fleet

IYC is pleased to welcome one of the world’s most impressive explorer yachts to its sales fleet, with 77.4m (253’11’’) M/Y Legend now listed as a CA by Mark Elliott, IYC Sales & Charter Consultant.

Having begun life as an icebreaker in 1974, before later being converted to a luxury vessel, Legend’s incredibly stable steel Class I Icebreaker hull and balanced design make her the best-suited and most comfortable yachts for global exploration on the market today. With a host of features and amenities almost too long to list, Legend has benefitted from the extensive knowledge of her highly experienced current owner who has spared no expense in ensuring she is the ultimate platform to see the world from.

In peak condition, in 2015 she underwent a year-long refit at Dutch yard Icon Yachts. Work included lengthening the yacht by 3.6m, allowing for the addition of a large swim platform and huge 16 person Jacuzzi fed by its own waterfall, with several reconfigurations of the previous design to best optimise the space on board. The result is a yacht with a huge volume and multiple interior and exterior spaces including several lounges and dining spaces, a 14 seater cinema and Balinese spa with sauna and beauty salon.

Featuring an opulent and individual interior by Dutch design house Diana Yacht Design, with every space intended to have its own personality, Legend is able to welcome up to 26 guests in 13 cabins including the extensive owner’s suite, located on its own private deck, two VIPs, five doubles and five twins. A standard crew of 19 is able to be bolstered by an extra 10 exploration crew for longer or further flung expeditions. Huge focus has been placed on maximising and ensuring variety in the extensive onboard spaces, due to guests often spending extended time on the yacht in the more remote destinations visited. Communal interior areas are beautifully finished and furnished with exquisite furniture that even includes a self-playing grand piano in the Piano Bar Lounge. Outside, wide and plentiful decks are home to sunbathing loungers and pads, dining spaces, bars and even a BBQ.

A 7,640 nautical mile range, together with her Class I Icebreaker classification and assets including a commercial helideck, submarine and 2 snowmobiles ensure that almost nowhere in the world is off limits for Legend. Having visited all corners of the earth already, from Antarctica to South America, she is eminently suited to those looking for an unforgettable adventure. Huge amounts of onboard storage space have allowed for an extensive collection of toys and tenders, ranging from snow scooters to scuba equipment, that allow her guests to enjoy a wide range of on water and onshore activities.
