IYC Presents: A Walkthrough of the Admiral 72 by G. Armani The Epitome of Italian Design and Superyacht Innovation

10th October 2025

IYC is proud to present an exclusive walkthrough of the Admiral 72 by G. Armani, led by Jared Watney of Ocean Air Media. This cinematic tour invites an inside and exclusive look into one of the most extraordinary custom yachts ever built, where Giorgio Armani’s timeless design philosophy meets the pinnacle of superyacht engineering. If you were among the few who stepped aboard the yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, this walkthrough will bring those moments vividly back. If not, it’s your exclusive chance to experience — for the first time — this extraordinary creation brought to life by IYC.

A long-standing vision of Giorgio Armani, the two 236’ (72m) sister yachts — the only ones of their kind worldwide — embody the designer’s ambition to bring his aesthetic and philosophy into the realm of luxury yachting. Created through an exclusive collaboration between Giorgio Armani and The Italian Sea Group (TISG) under its Admiral brand, these yachts represent exceptional and timeless works of art.

IYC has been deeply involved since the project’s inception, with Michel Chryssicopoulos, IYC Global Managing Partner, leading the project from the outset. Chryssicopoulos successfully brokered the sale of both hull one and hull two, as well as managing the resale of hull one in May last year.

Both hulls, fully custom and conceived by Giorgio Armani himself, redefine what it means to merge fashion, architecture, and maritime innovation. At 1,950 gross tons, the yachts span an expansive interior and exterior volume, achieving a remarkable 6,000-nautical-mile range. Their full-displacement steel hulls and aluminium superstructures balance strength and elegance, complemented by Armani’s unmistakable design signature.

Giorgio Armani personally designed both the exterior and interior of the yachts. The exteriors feature clean, geometric lines harmoniously blended with sculpted curves, while the interiors — furnished by Armani/Casa — elevate his refined aesthetic through an interplay of light, texture, and proportion. Inside, bespoke Rubelli fabrics, custom palettes, and rare stones adorn each cabin — a symphony of pale blues, silvers, and warm neutrals designed to evoke tranquility and sophistication. From the sweeping owner’s salon to the secluded wellness areas, every space reflects Armani’s timeless vision of understated luxury.

“Both identical hulls are extraordinary, with innovative lines and unlike any profile that has come before them, focusing on indoor-outdoor living and an impressive selection of exciting amenities,” said Michel Chryssicopoulos.

The yacht’s layout is both impressive and thoughtful:

  • Sun Deck: Aft pool, bar, day head, and fire lounge create a cinematic retreat beneath the open sky.

  • Bridge Deck: Features a gazebo dining area, captain’s quarters, and panoramic wheelhouse.

  • Owner’s Deck: A true private sanctuary, including an owner’s salon, full-beam cabin, alfresco dining and bar, and dedicated sunbathing areas.

  • Main Deck: Hosts an expansive lounge, VIP and guest cabins, and a limousine tender garage.

  • Lower Deck: Houses a spa-inspired beach club with sauna, steam, and gym, alongside a crew gym and state-of-the-art galley.

With this walkthrough, Jared Watney captures the essence of the yacht, not just as a yacht, but as a floating expression of Giorgio Armani’s philosophy: elegance that whispers, never shouts. From the precision of the exterior architecture to the poetic calm of the interiors, she stands as one of the most refined and talked-about yacht projects of the decade.
