Black Pearl is welcoming people across the world aboard—virtually, that is. For the first time, you can check out every inch of the famed 345-foot sailing megayacht—one of the world’s largest sailing yachts—thanks to a new video from IYC, where the vessel is now available for charter. It’s a bold move considering that details about the Oceanco-built vessel’s interiors were scant until last year, when the vessel first splashed down on the charter market. Now, though, IYC is taking that transparency even further with this walkthrough helmed by Captain Chris Gartner.
Few sailing yachts have captivated the maritime world like Black Pearl, the 106.7-meter revolutionary superyacht built by Oceanco. Blending dramatic design, advanced sailing technology, and a bold commitment to sustainability, Black Pearl remains one of the most fascinating vessels ever launched. Now, the legendary yacht is back in the spotlight following the release of a new full walkthrough video, offering an unprecedented look inside one of the world’s most technologically advanced sailing yachts.
Launched in September 2016 by Oceanco and now under IYC’s management available for charter, the release of images of Black Pearl’s interior spaces, and the very heart of her sailing systems signals a new chapter for one of the most extraordinary yachts ever created. Captain Chris Gartner personally welcomed Jared Watney of Ocean Air Media on board with unrestricted access. Black Pearl is not a motor yacht with sails for assistance. She was conceived around a singular, revolutionary philosophy: to sail at an unprecedented scale, efficiently, elegantly, and powerfully, unlike any other vessel in the world. At 345-feet (105-metres), with three towering DynaRig masts rising nearly 230-feet (70-metres) and approximately 10,077-square-feet (3,000-square-metres) of sail area deployed in under eight minutes, she is one of the most technically advanced sailing yachts ever built.
Each year, the World Superyacht Awards recognise the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the most remarkable superyachts from across the globe. The nominees for the 21st edition, held in association with The Italian Sea Group and Acquera Club, have been revealed and the winners will be announced during an exclusive ceremony on 1-2 May 2026 in Venice, Italy.
Do you want to know just how opulent the never-seen-before-in-the-media interior of the 344-foot-long sailing superyacht Black Pearl really is? Well, you should ask by brother. He’ll be the first to admit that he does not follow superyachts the way I do. And, frankly, he’d never really heard of the Black Pearl except when speaking about Johnny Depp and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
The efforts that Moonen has been making to attract customers from American shores is paying off. Hull number nine of the Moonen 122 Martinique series, which sold late last year to U.S. buyers, is 10 months from completion.
Dutch yard Moonen Yachts has announced that the hull and superstructure of the ninth unit from its 122 Martinique model, hull YN207, have been joined. The milestone was celebrated at a ceremony at Moonen’s facilities in North Brabant in the southern Netherlands. Following the joining, the 37.4-metre build will now move into the outfitting phase, where all technical systems and interior elements will be installed, ahead of final commissioning and sea trials. Delivery is scheduled for January 2027. The construction update comes almost three months after the shipyard confirmed the new build's sale to American owners. Moonen’s global sales representatives, Matthew Stone and Richard Gray of IYC, represented the yard in the deal, while Alex G. Clarke of Denison Yachting introduced the buyer.
