Untouched: A New Vlog Series Of GALILEO's Journey Through The Maldives
With many of the IYC charter yachts venturing to extraordinary destinations, we are excited to share a new vlog series that offers a glimpse into the adventures of one of our standout explorers: the award-winning 182’9” (55.7m) GALILEO. The journey has been brought to life by Jared Watney, CEO & Founder of our trusted in-house media partner, Ocean Air Media, who took on this adventure to document behind-the-scenes of this yacht for charter and its once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Jared’s series captures the exceptional charter lifestyle experience that GALILEO offers, showcasing its true world cruiser nature.
In the first edition, 'Untouched Maldives,' Jared joins GALILEO in the archipelago of idyllic coral islands located just southeast of Sri Lanka. The episodes follow Jared and guests on a seven-day itinerary exploring the lesser-visited atolls of this island nation, showcasing all kinds of adventurous fun and activities the yacht for charter has on offer. From pristine anchorages bordered by the clearest waters and powder-white sands, unforgettable surfing, fishing, and diving adventures, which are all made possible thanks to Captain Wes and his professional and expert crew.

Episode one unveils what happens on the first day of this Maldives charter itinerary, beginning in Male and heading down to the south of the Maldives in Gaafu Atoll. Introducing viewers to the yacht and its multinational crew, Captain Wes explains how the crew creates the ultimate experience for the guests onboard, not only because of their yachting skills and professional nature but the arsenal of certificates they all carry - from kitesurfing and surfing instructors, dive masters, to foil instructors, as he says "you name it, we have them onboard, all we need is enthusiastic guests to join us." Equipped For Exploration
Plenty is available for all 12 guests onboard at any one time to cater to all these activities and adventures. In 2023, the yacht for charter underwent a refit to improve access to all the watersports equipment. Now better than ever, GALILEO is the ultimate specialized platform for extreme surf and dive expeditions worldwide. With minimal effort, thanks to its ice-reinforced steel hull platform, the yacht is engineered for remote cruising alongside its array of toys. From top-quality diving sets, multiple robust tenders, sport fishing equipment, wakeboards, paddleboards, surfboards, and hydro foiling setups to plenty of inflatables to relax in, there is something for everyone. From a technical standpoint, GALILEO's design ensures that regardless of weather or sea state, launching and retrieving equipment is always safe, efficient, and seamless - as shown by the video highlighting something that not all yachts can promise.
Finding The Best Waves
The day continues to unfold with a surf recce in the tender, exploring the central atolls. Using fantastic drone footage, Jared shows the emptiness of the surf spot with perfect left-hand waves. A recurring theme aboard GALILEO is to seek out hidden anchorage and these remote surf breaks, far from the crowds. The episode shows Captain Wes in the tender and the crew out on the Jet Skis, always on standby for the guests while they enjoy the surf. As Jared comments in the episode: "Everybody is so helpful, happy, and keen to make it happen, which makes for such a special and unique program." After a day of exploration, guests aboard GALILEO can unwind with relaxing wellness offerings and fiery island sunsets, all complemented by exceptional meals from the yacht's chef, refueling for the exciting journey ahead.
