Key Features
Experience vintage yachting with modern conveniences aboard BLU based in St Maarten year round. Built in 1979 by historic Breaux Bay Craft (Louisiana), she underwent a major reft from 1998-2000 and was nominated for The World Superyacht Awards 2001 Best Refitted Yacht. On the exterior, the dark blue hull is paired with the cream-colored superstructure, a traditional and distinctive combination.
BLU accommodates 8 guests in 4 luxurious cabins. The interior boasts details of the former owner’s passion for the 30’s Art Deco cruise line era. Period touches include highly-polished nickel hardware and brushed-oil brass accents. The soft goods color scheme is dove gray. The interior is paneled in cherry throughout with the exception of the VIP Queen Cabin on the Main Deck showcasing bird’s-eye maple. The Main Salon is furnished with two facing sofas, arm chairs and occasional tables. Forward is a powder room and full service bar which separate the Dining Salon forward. To starboard of the Dining Salon is the stairway to the accommodation deck.
Below is the well-appointed, full-width Owner’s Suite (amidships); a Queen and a Twin Cabin are forward. The Owner’s Suite bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The striking mosaic floor is handcrafted in mother-of-pearl with gold leaf trim. Calacatta marble and Lalique crystal faucets offer further Deco enhancements. Forward on the Main Deck is the VIP Queen Cabin which doubles as a study as the bed easily slides into a hidden recess converting the room into a private study with a large desk. Guest bathrooms feature stone tile and counter tops with hammered nickel sinks and crystal fittings.
The Main Deck Aft is furnished with a built-in banquette and dining table for 8/10 guests. Port/starboard stairs access the modified fishing cockpit on the stern which opens to the 5 ft swim platform.
The Sundeck is the most popular option for sunset cocktails and alfresco dining. The raised Jacuzzi is aft with sunbeds, 2 umbrellas and a settee on either side forward. The shaded flybridge with bench seating offers an excellent view underway. Behind the flybridge are port and starboard built-in settees, a bar with 2 stools, a service counter and BBQ.
The Main Deck is walk around with access aft to the Sundeck. The focal point on the Bow is a sunbed with 2 umbrellas. BLU’s array of toys will please watersport enthusiasts. The 25 ft Sportsman towed tender is equipped for fishing, or for excursions to the finest restaurants and luxury shops - or to the beach for a gourmet picnic.
