Named after the tenacious mongoose, the Mangusta brand was created to deliver fast, open-designed superyachts to the global market. Mangusta was founded as part of the Overmarine Group by the Balducci family in 1985, and this thoroughly Italian brand is still owned and managed by the Balducci family, with Giuseppe Balducci’s two children Maurizio and Katia both integral members of the business. The brand’s three shipyards are located in Pisa, Viareggio and Tuscany, with over 190,000 square meters of construction space dedicated to creating their fast and finely finished vessels.
From the very beginning, Mangusta has been revolutionary in its “open” yacht design concept. With open vessels traditionally being small and sporty with little room for luxury comforts, the first Mangusta 80 was a game changer. This high speed motor yacht offered space, luxury and comfort, with no compromise on performance, and changed the market for this style of yacht forever. As the brand developed, so did the size of its yachts, with over 90 of the 300 vessels launched to date measuring over 100ft. Mangusta now boasts three yacht lines: the iconic MaxiOpen, the tri-decked Mangusta Oceano line and the latest line, the Mangusta GranSport. The MaxiOpen defines itself as the icon of luxury sports yachts, whereas the Oceano line offers more opportunities for explorations, with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles. The GranSport marries the two concepts together, offering a luxury vessel with high speeds and a large range.
Sporty and streamlined silhouettes define the Mangusta brand, with their open style vessels embracing on water living.
