Founded in 1915 on Italy’s Ligurian coast, Mondomarine began life as Cantieri Navali Campanella, a repair yard serving the country’s commercial fleet. By the 1970s, the company had turned its expertise toward private yacht construction, marking the birth of the Mondomarine name. From the start, its focus was clear: Italian craftsmanship paired with robust naval engineering.
Across the decades, Mondomarine became known for its custom motor yachts, often built in aluminium and steel for clients seeking individuality and performance. The shipyard’s designs balance refined proportions with technical depth, resulting in vessels that feel both timeless and contemporary. Flagship builds such as Sarastar (197’8” / 60.2 m) and Tribù (165’7” / 50.5 m) illustrate its ability to combine scale, artistry, and seaworthiness in equal measure.
Today, operating under the Palumbo Superyachts umbrella, Mondomarine continues to evolve while maintaining its identity as a boutique Italian builder. Its Savona facilities support every phase of production, from concept design and metalwork to interior fit-out and sea trials, ensuring clients receive a deeply personal, end-to-end experience.

An Overview of the Shipyard's History, Specialty, Iconic Builds, and Partnerships
Mondomarine Shipyard
For more than a century, MondoMarine has been building beautiful yachts for discerning owners. Founded as the Campanella Shipyard in 1915, it is from this beginning that the MondoMarine brand was built. Acquired by the Palumbo brand in November 2018, the yard builds custom aluminium and steel motor yachts that range from 40 to 75m and is respected as a premier superyacht builder. Under the tagline, ‘same custom design, new ideas,’ the yard is now going from strength to strength under its proven leadership.
The yard’s in-house engineering division and craftsmen ensure that the yachts are built to the high standards of ABS, Lloyd’s Register and RINA. World-class engineering and meticulous attention to detail results in a stunning end product. Notable projects launched by MondoMarine include Ipanema, Truby, Sara Star and Serenity. A wide choice of designs is on offer from the yard, which has two main lines – the Discovery and Classic – plus the eye-catching Eidos and Sea Falcon concepts.
