The Cyclades in the Aegean Sea comprise one of Greece's many idyllic archipelagos. Island-hopping between them is done best on a luxury yacht charter. Nestled centrally within the 200-plus islands of this famous group is Antiparos.
This lesser-known island lies off the beaten track, not on the ferry route, and away from the popular and frequented Mykonos and Santorini. Antiparos is where life and vacations move slower. Untouched by mass tourism, this secluded, postcard-perfect island is perfect for a Greek yacht charter itinerary this summer. As the smaller sister island to the neighboring Paros, Antiparos remains tranquil and authentic, showcasing Greek island living.
Despite the island's size, this hidden gem in the Cyclades still offers plenty to do for all yacht charter guests. It is perfect for those seeking unspoiled natural beauty, fringed with crystal clear waters and golden beaches. The secluded coves offer perfect watersports opportunities, and ashore, there are plenty of historical sites to uncover, as well as chic dining options.
This summer, from 14 to 16 June, the picturesque island will be hosting the inaugural Cyclades Cup. The regatta is organized by the Yacht Club of Greece and sanctioned by the Superyacht Racing Association. We are proud to sponsor this exciting event and have many of our fleet attending the race, including the 163'5" (49.8m) ALMYRA II, 131'3", and (40m) ARISTARCHOS.
Those attending to participate or spectate will be able to take part in the full schedule of social events held throughout the regatta, from VIP cocktail and dinner parties to island excursions. Antiparos is the perfect location for this first Cyclades Cup, thanks to its hospitable and friendly sailors and the stunning backdrop for sailing.
Antiparos has been known for drawing in various acclaimed writers and artists for centuries due to its cultural and historical significance. The island's history can be unveiled while exploring and admiring the Cycladic architecture.
The small town of Chora is steeped in cultural importance; following the cobblestone streets, full of whitewashed houses, chapels, and courtyards, to Antiparos Square, you will find the ancient Venetian castle of Antiparos, built in the mid-15th-century.
The coastline is bordered by superb beaches, bays, and coves, perfect for enjoying a superyacht charter. If you are looking for a beautiful beach all to yourself, head to Livadia Beach, located on the undeveloped western side. On the southern point of Antiparos is Faneromeni Beach, the locals call this area 'The Pool' thanks to its crystal-clear waters surrounded by rock formations. Slightly further North is Agios Georgios beach, a stunning beach sheltered in a picturesque bay with a view across to the islet of Despotiko.
The island's best-kept secret is 'Camping Beach,' located close to Chora and known from the 70s as being occupied by bohemian campers. Unlike Mykonos and other islands, there are only a handful of beach clubs on Antiparos, with a much more relaxed vibe. Beach House is one of these; hidden in the sandy cove of Apantima, this all-day beach club is perfect for relaxing. For adventurous beach-hopping days, the 126'4" (38.5m) NAIA has a brand new chase boat ready to show guests the best of the island's coastline and beaches.
Although relaxing is high on the agenda in Antiparos, there is also plenty to do. On the southeastern part is the oldest cave in Greece, the famous Cave of Antiparos, well worth a visit. This natural wonder is full of stalactites and stalagmites and has a long history. It was initially used as a refuge and then a place of worship, with its entrance framed by a small 18th-century church. Thanks to the island’s rugged landscape, there are also plenty of opportunities for hiking and biking if you are feeling adventurous.
Back onboard, making the most of any yacht's toys, have days enjoying the watersports; there are endless anchorages to enjoy. As an example, you can take the Jet Skis from the new 145'3" (44.27m) LA LA LAND to explore the nearby island of Despotiko island. To cool off in the Greek heat, swim and snorkel between the islands at Panteronisia; this stunning blue lagoon creates the best conditions for snorkeling and swimming. Just a short sail away is the larger island of Paros, with even more to add to your itinerary.
Similar to the rest of Greece, Antiparos has an excellent dining scene with many traditional tavernas serving up grilled octopus, steamed lobster, local mezes, and other classic dishes. The island also boasts some more contemporary restaurants such as Epos Burger, Lollos Pizza, and the internationally-inspired menu of Sapou Restaurant. When wandering ashore, Vicky's Ice Cream offers the most delicious homemade ice cream.
Located just above Livadia Beach is The Rooster, a lifestyle and wellness resort home to a great restaurant welcoming yacht charter guests. For great cocktails and atmosphere, Bardot bar is perfect to enjoy an evening on their terrace surrounded by the terracotta interiors and crafts by local artisans. Antiparos isn't without its nighttime entertainment; Disco La Luna is the place to visit if you want to continue the party ashore or head back to the yacht to continue the party onboard.
Whether you are seeking a relaxing yacht charter with your family, want action-packed watersports and beach days with friends, or an intimate romantic yacht charter enjoying Greece's hidden gems, Antiparos is ideal for any Greek yacht charter for this Mediterranean summer. The island offers enough for a week-long charter, or is a great starting point for a more extended Cyclades Island vacation.
