Couach Yachts

Shipyard History

Founded by Albert Couach in 1897, Couach Yachts is an esteemed shipyard located in Arcachon, France. In 1947, Guy Couach, Albert's grandson, steered the business into a new era of performance luxury yacht construction and commenced the first series production boat, Arcoa. Since then, Couach Yachts has established a reputation for excellence with the use of innovative, lightweight composite materials such as Kevlar, carbon fiber, and fiberglass, and an expanding range of semi-custom and custom-built projects of up to 50 meters in length. In 1985, Pierre Couach, Guy's son, joined the business and brought new modern designs of up to 28 meters. Then, with the introduction of Nepteam Holding in 2011, Couach Yachts could start production of its prestigious Couach 5000 Fly, up to 50 meters in length. Couach Yachts combines high-performance luxury yacht building with high-level quality and state-of-the-art technology, making it a leader in the yachting industry.

Shipyard Specialty

Couach Yachts is renowned for its outstanding performance open and flybridge motor yachts made from lightweight composite materials such as fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon fibre. The Chantier Naval Couach shipyard builds semi-custom luxury yachts ranging from 20m to 50m, as well as military and smaller civilian vessels. Boat owners can shape the interior of their yacht to their exact specifications and tastes.

By constructing yachts with a deep V-hull configuration, Couach offers increased speeds and increased range. The combination of light-weight glass Kevlar fibre hulls and superstructure materials create a more robust and solid vessel, while allowing for maximum comfort and luxury without increasing displacement or compromising autonomy.

Notable deliveries and models

Couach Yachts has launched three flybridge motor yacht models—2300 Fly, 2600 Fly, and the successful 3700 Fly—and is equipped to build projects up to 50m upon request. The french yard's two largest projects completed to date are the 50m La Pellegrina and Belongers built under the tri-deck Couach 5000 Fly model. In 2017, a more compact version of this model, the Couach 4400 Fast Fly—i.e. Tosca—was launched. Of Couach's most successful series, the 3500 Fly and 3700 Fly, Water Toy III and Hakuna Matata amongst them, have seen 11 units produced, with the 2020 launch of 3700.07 Fly as Millesime. Additionally, the Couach 2800 Fly has seen six deliveries, such as Atalanti and Lady Amanda, of which C&C, a 2600 Fly, was delivered in 2022.

Design collaborations on models and projects

French yard Couach has two yacht design projects in its portfolio: the Couach 4200 Lounge and Couach 5200 Yacht. These projects were designed in-house; however, Couach has also engaged with Cano Lanza Yacht Design for exterior and interior styling of certain yacht models. Additionally, Couach has sought out renown designers Jean-Pierre Fantini, Ken Freivokh and Alberto Pinto for interior projects for the Pellegrina, Couach 3700 Arion and Kadimo’s, respectively.
