Moonen Yachts builds a limited number of steel-hulled yachts each year, with a clear focus on craftsmanship, long-range performance, and engineering reliability. Originally founded in 1963 and renamed Moonen Yachts in 1981, the shipyard operates from the Dutch city of ’s-Hertogenbosch. It specializes in custom and semi-custom yachts from 98’ (30m) to 164’ (50m), each constructed with in-house teams across all disciplines.
In 2019, the yard entered a new chapter under the ownership of Australian entrepreneurs Matthew and Louise Baxter. Their investment retained the shipyard’s boutique scale while strengthening its capabilities. Every yacht is shaped by vertical integration—Moonen handles everything from mechanical systems to interior finishes in-house—ensuring consistency across the build process.
Moonen’s model lines include the Martinique 122 and 110 series. Both platforms offer clients the ability to tailor layout, interior styling, and technical features to meet their specific requirements. Design partners such as René van der Velden and Diana Yacht Design contribute to a refined, collaborative process. Every yacht benefits from Dutch technical standards and a hands-on approach to ownership. Founded in 1963, Moonen Yachts is a prestigious Dutch shipyard renowned for crafting bespoke luxury yachts. Located in 's-Hertogenbosch, the shipyard originally focused on smaller commercial and recreational vessels but quickly transitioned to the high-end yachting market. By the 1980s, Moonen had established itself as a leader in building high-quality, semi-custom and custom yachts ranging from 20 to 40 meters.
Moonen's commitment to Dutch craftsmanship, innovative engineering, and timeless design has earned it a reputation for producing "pocket superyachts" — compact vessels that deliver the sophistication and performance of larger yachts. The shipyard has collaborated with renowned naval architects and designers like René van der Velden and Vripack to produce iconic models like the Moonen Martinique series.

With a focus on upholding the finest tradition of Dutch yacht building, Moonen Yachts ensures an exclusive ownership experience by delivering only two yachts per year.
Notable deliveries and models
With over 40 years of expertise in yacht construction, Moonen Yachts has built a reputation for long-range yachts with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures. Among its earlier series, the Moonen 84 produced the 27.1m WILLOW. The Moonen 94 Alu range followed with the 29m CIAO, a winner at the 2007 World Yachts Trophies. The Moonen 124 range is represented by the 38.2m NORTHLANDER, a winner at the 2010 International Superyacht Society Awards.
Having delivered 80 yachts worldwide, Moonen Yachts continues that legacy with the Martinique series, whose fleet includes the 36.3m BRIGADOON, winner of Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts (33m to 39.9m) at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards, and the 36.3m MOONSHINE. The current range comprises the 34m Moonen 110, first delivered as MIDNIGHT SAGA, the 37.4m Moonen 122 Martinique and the 40m Moonen 133 Mallorca, the yard’s largest model.
Design collaborations on models and projects
Moonen Yachts’ designs take shape through two long-standing partnerships: René van der Velden Yacht Design defines the exterior lines that give each yacht its signature silhouette, while Diana Yacht Design leads naval architecture and engineering across the range. Together, they have shaped models including the Martinique series, the Moonen 110 and the Moonen 133 Mallorca. The Martinique series has evolved through 36.3m, 37.8m and 37.4m versions and has grown to ten hulls.
Interior design responsibilities are shared among specialists chosen to match each owner’s brief: Nauta Yachts styled BRIGADOON, Studio Indigo has shaped interiors on the 36.3m KOKORO, Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter brought a Scandinavian sensibility to the 37.8m COCOON, the studio’s first motor yacht project, Hollander Yacht Design worked on MOONSHINE and the 37.4m AD ASTRA, and Vripack Yacht Design took the helm on the 37.4m LOLLIPOP and the Moonen 133 Mallorca. Earlier builds drew on studios such as Art-Line, which styled the interior of WILLOW, and Adam Lay Studio, behind the interior of the 29.9m BIJOUX II from the Moonen 98 Matica line.
