Notable deliveries and models
Westport Yachts has introduced a range of notable models throughout its history, each showcasing the shipyard’s qualities.
The Westport 112, 130 and 164 rank among the builder’s most recognized models. The 112, first launched in 1998 as UBIQUITOUS, became the yard’s most popular series, while the 164 debuted in 2006 as the largest series-built superyacht in the world. Generous interior volume defines these vessels, many with a full-beam master cabin, multiple guest cabins and a spacious main salon. Westport’s range is organized into two families: the Raised Pilothouse series, comprising the W117 and W135, and the Tri-Deck series, represented by the W172. The W172, the yard’s largest model, accommodates 12 guests across six ensuite cabins with crew quarters for up to 11.
Design collaborations on models and projects
The shipyard worked with Gregory C. Marshall Naval Architects, the internationally renowned naval architecture and design firm whose restyling of the Westport 98 established the family look that Taylor Olson later carried to the Westport 112 and 130.
Donald Starkey Designs shaped the Westport 164 series, and Starkey’s styling extends to the W172, whose hull form Westport developed with naval architect William Garden. Jack Sarin and Garden rank among the world-respected designers the yard has worked with alongside its in-house team of naval architects and marine engineers.
That depth of capability is reflected in newer models such as the W135, where naval architecture, exterior styling and interior design are developed entirely within the shipyard. Westport’s in-house interior design work has also drawn recognition: designer Teresa Francis placed second in the Exotic Retreats category at the Seattle Design Center’s 2013 Northwest Design Awards and took first place for the Westport 130 and second for the Westport 112 in the same category in 2014.
