The new IYC Scandinavia office was opened in response to a growing interest in the yachting world from Scandinavian countries and a desire for IYC to always be based on the ground in key yachting hubs around the world. “ Boats and the sea is in our blood and we are daily surrounded by it up here in the North” says. Sofia Nordlinder. “Scandinavia is an emerging market within the yachting scene, that is fast expanding, and we are here to educate and enable clients from this region in realizing their yachting dreams. As a Scandinavian broker that has working in the yachting industry for more than 15 years it is amazing to see the yachting lifestyle finally picking up in this part of the world.”
This growing interest in luxury yachting and charter holidays is a natural step for Scandinavian residents, with a yachting culture inherent in the region and boating a longstanding part of Scandinavian culture and heritage. Part of an ongoing goal for IYC Scandinavia will be working with their local clients to help them enjoy the best that the luxury yacht market has to offer. “Within the high end travel market we have seen that Scandinavian clients are now looking for a different way to travel and it is clear that yachting is the ultimate way to spend a vacation and see the best of destinations around the world,” says Thérèse Kristoffersen. “At IYC Scandinavia we are looking forward to spreading the message about luxury yachting and helping to create unforgettable memories on the water for our clients.”
As a cruising destination Scandinavia is also proving increasingly popular thanks to its beautiful scenery and stunning waters, including the Norwegian fjords, a host of islands, many major cities on the water, including Stockholm, and plenty for visiting yachts to see and do. As well as serving the local client base the IYC Scandinavia team will also be delighted to offer expert advice to anyone looking to visit this beautiful part of the world.
