The IYC Fort Lauderdale office showcases the work of two talented artists

30th November 2016
So often beautiful artwork is a central part of a yacht’s interior design, with superyacht owners often also being passionate art collectors. In fact many consider yachts themselves to be works of art in their own right. IYC places high value on the role of art in the world of superyachts and has developed several partnerships and initiatives that help to pair art with superyachts and allow owners to indulge in their love for both.
One of IYC’s latest initiatives is the use of the IYC Fort Lauderdale office as a platform to showcase the work of two talented artists: Ramez Jamali and Igal Fedida. These highly-respected creatives each have a unique style that has won them followers around the world. Ramez Jamali has become known for his distinctive use of bright colors and bold shapes, in both figurative and abstract compositions, while Fedida makes use of a variety of materials, including metal, canvas, wood and glass, to emulate the creation of the world through his expressive art. Select pieces of art from their portfolios have helped to develop a creative and inspiring environment in the Fort Lauderdale office, that is in keeping with the consideration given to superyacht interiors, for IYC clients to enjoy.

Stefanos Macrymichalos, CEO of IYC, believes there is a lot of unity between the worlds of art and superyachts and the passions behind both. “Similar to a piece of art, no two yachts are the same and yacht owners, like artists, put in their yacht their passion, love and pride, making each vessel unique,” he says.  “Like art, they capture emotions, and moments in time from all who experience life on board.”

Many yachts within the IYC sales and charter fleets use art to help define the stunning interior spaces that help to make a charter holiday so memorable for guests. “The purpose of art is washing the daily dust of life of our souls,” said Pablo Picasso, with this quote perfectly demonstrating why art plays such an important role on superyachts, whose purpose is often so similar. Art can inspire, evoke emotions and enhance experiences, which are just some reasons why IYC values its place on yachts so highly.
