The Mediterranean Yacht Show 2024 unfolded for its 9th edition against the charming backdrop of Nafplion, Greece from April 27th to May 2nd. It's with a sense of accomplishment that we recall the presence of IYC at this year’s show, proudly displaying the largest fleet in the show, with 24 meticulously selected yachts aligned in perfect symmetry along the waterfront.
Throughout MEDYS 2024, IYC took great joy in hosting a series of events aimed at fostering meaningful connections within our industry, showcasing the talents of the crews on board our yachts, and giving our peers a taste of the experiences to be enjoyed on board. It was wonderful to witness our colleagues, teams, and industry partners come together, sharing moments of conviviality during these gatherings.
Below, we will highlight some of the key moments that defined our participation in this memorable show.
In the days leading up to MEDYS, the yachts quietly prepared for their spotlight moment. Lining up side by side with precision and care down the dock, the crews undertook meticulous grooming of the yachts, working together with the IYC teams adorning the boats with branding and signage, readying to greet visitors and showcase their finest features in the days ahead.
On the eve of the show, IYC treated Captains and Owners to a beautiful cocktail soirée at the picturesque Valaora Restaurant. Against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset, guests savored delectable cuisine while being serenaded by the melodies of a live saxophone player. Our esteemed partner, Tequila Komos, delighted attendees with tastings of their finest tequila variations. This evening affair set the stage for the grand opening of a remarkable showcase, promising days filled with good energy and excitement.
The first day of MEDYS 2024 dawned with radiant sunshine and a palpable sense of excitement in the air. For IYC, the day started with a spirited team gathering on the docks, where our CEO delivered an inspiring pep talk, rallying collective spirits for the days ahead.
Capturing the momentous occasion, a team photo was snapped in front of our impressive lineup. Throughout the bustling day, our yachts welcomed a steady stream of visitors, each eager to explore the luxurious offerings onboard.
Day 2 of MEDYS 2024 began with a harmonious start as guests embarked on a serene yoga session aboard ALAYA, immersing themselves in the tranquility of the morning. Amidst the day's activities, IYC yachts played host to a continuous flow of visitors and
As the sun dipped below the horizon, OAK transformed into the setting for a wine experience, inviting guests to indulge in exquisite flavors against a backdrop of breathtaking views. Meanwhile, intimate dinners unfolded aboard SANJANA, MELI, TIMBUKTU, and IDYLLIC, offering brokers the opportunity to savor the tastes of each yacht.
Day 3 started with a serene breakfast aboard WHITE PEARL, with freshly brewed coffee and delectable baked goods served on the decks of the stunning sailing yacht.
As the day unfolded, a culinary journey awaited attendees with lunches hosted on various yachts. MAGIX, ELVI, and MABROUK offered delightful spreads, but it was the Greek Gods Party aboard MIA ZOI that stole the show. Guests immersed themselves in the festivities, donning togas, dancing around the table, and joyously participating in the time-honored tradition of plate-breaking.
Evening descended with elegance as dinners were hosted aboard BLISS, XIPHIAS, and NATALIA V for gourmet dinners and engaging conversations.
The night culminated in a vibrant Disco Night aboard IDYLLE, as pulsating lights and music illuminated the yacht.
Day 4 was all about the food! With delicious lunches hosted aboard OAK, OURANOS, and RARE FIND, guests indulged in culinary delights while basking in the yachts’ ambiance. Dinner were also held on OVAL, KASSANDRA, and LET IT BE.
The highlight of the day was the announcement of the winner of the Greek Yachting Association Chef Competition, with Chef Aristeidis Vlachogiannis of AFRICA I emerging victorious. Congratulations echoed through the show as Chef Vlachogiannis was celebrated for his culinary creativity.
The festivities continued with a lively Tiki Night aboard ALAYA, where guests savored cocktails and danced as the sun set with the stunning scenery of the sea and yachts in the port of Nafplion.
As the sun shone on the final day of the show, the docks remained abuzz with activity, as attendees continued to explore the offerings of the show. Lunches were served aboard RIVA I, AFRICA I, and RARE FIND, providing guests with one last opportunity to savor exquisite cuisine and exchange fond farewells. A special mention is also due to SANCTUARY who hosted lunches with exacting precision and incredible hospitality daily throughout the show.
As the afternoon waned, the melodious tunes of a saxophone filled the air, drifting from the docks and weaving through the crowd. To the sounds of the saxophone, the IYC team gathered on the sundeck of AFRICA I to celebrate the culmination of the event. Against the backdrop of a stunning sunset, lively cocktails flowed, and fresh sushi prepared by the esteemed competition-winning chef were served, marking the perfect conclusion to a truly memorable and successful show.
