Founded in 1873, Benetti is one of the oldest and most respected names in yacht construction. Now part of the Azimut | Benetti Group, it produces a wide range of semi-custom and full-custom motor yachts from 36 meters to well over 100 meters in length.
Each of its three Italian shipyards, Viareggio, Livorno, and Fano, serves a distinct role in the production process, allowing Benetti to deliver up to 35 yachts at a time. Model families include the elegant Class line, the lifestyle-focused Oasis series, the steel-hulled B.Now range, and the exploration-ready B.Yond. At the upper end, the Custom and Giga lines offer owners a blank slate for technical and creative freedom.

Shipyard History
Founded in 1873, Benetti is one of the best known luxury yachting brands, and IYC’s team has worked on the sale and charter of a number of significant Benetti builds. The yard has facilities in Viareggio and Livorno, and specializes in the production of custom and semi-custom luxury yachts. Solid construction and a reputation for excellence has kept Benetti among the top-ranked builders in the world and their yachts are recognized worldwide.
Benetti was purchased by the Azimut Group, owned by Paolo Vitelli, in 1985, to form the Azimut-Benetti Group. The two well-known Italian yacht brands combined into one big luxury yacht builder that produces boats that are popular for both sale and charter. Benetti is always active with the release of new models, which helps to maintain its popularity with clients.

Shipyard Specialty
Building in composite, aluminum and steel, Benetti’s facilities total over 300,000sqm at three yard sites. Able to build yachts from 34m to over 100m, the yard has built more than 400 yachts in its long history. Notable deliveries and models
As part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, the shipyard belongs to the world’s leading builder of 24m-plus yachts by number of projects and total length, according to BOAT International’s Global Order Book. With its composite yacht models, Benetti established a strong presence in the 25m to 44m segment during the 2000s through successful series including the Benetti Legend 85, Benetti Tradition 100, Benetti Classic 35, Benetti Classic 37 and the Benetti Vision 145. The yard continued expanding its steel yacht construction with an increasing number of full-custom projects. Many full-custom Benetti yachts have since been delivered, but some of the shipyard’s most iconic superyachts include the 85.6m KINGDOM 5KR (ex-NABILA), the 70m FREEDOM (ex-REVERIE), followed by the 108m IJE, the 107.6m LUMINOSITY and the 107m MAR (ex-LANA), which further reinforced Benetti’s position as one of the world’s leading builders of custom superyachts.
The large portfolio of Benetti models comprises seven ranges, plus a full-custom option. Benetti’s semi-custom modelsspan from 36m to 72m in both composite and steel hull construction: Oasis, B.Yond, Motopanfilo, B.Neos, Class, B.Now and B.Loft.
Design collaborations on models and projects
Since the Benetti shipyard takeover by the Azimut Group, two Italian designers have played a defining role in shaping the shipyard’s identity. Stefano Righini created many of Benetti’s most successful composite yacht series, while Stefano Natucci was responsible for numerous custom steel-hulled motor yachts. Benetti has also expanded its collaborations with leading international designers. Giorgio M. Cassetta designed the Delfino 95, Mediterraneo 116, Diamond 44M and the B.Century family, which grew out of custom yachts such as the 67m CALEX. British design studio RWD developed the exterior styling for the Oasis family and later B.Now models and was responsible for the exterior design of the 108m IJE. Dutch designer Cor D. Rover created the distinctive exterior of the 67m SEASENSE, while Francesco Struglia designed the exterior of the Motopanfilo 37M, reinterpreting Benetti’s historic navetta styling for a contemporary audience.
