Canados was founded in 1946 in Ostia, Rome, on the site of a former hydroplane base. Originally established as Cantieri Navali di Ostia, the yard first specialized in military and commercial vessels for the Italian Navy and harbour authorities. A commission from a private client in the early 1950s marked a pivotal shift toward luxury yacht construction, setting the foundation for one of Italy’s most enduring shipyards. Over nearly eight decades, Canados has delivered more than 800 yachts, each one reflecting the blend of craftsmanship and precision that defines its legacy.

From its strategic base just outside Rome, Canados has evolved into a modern facility equipped with marinas, advanced production halls and in-house design and engineering teams. The shipyard’s portfolio now spans three distinct lines: the Canados flybridge series, the high-performance Gladiator sport-cruisers, and the Oceanic range of long-range expedition yachts. Each model combines custom interiors, efficient hull design and the latest composite technologies, uniting innovation with Italian elegance.

A Canados yacht is instantly recognizable for its balance of power and refinement. Whether conceived for open-air speed, family cruising or transoceanic adventure, every yacht captures the shipyard’s focus on structural integrity and style. For owners seeking a trusted Italian builder with heritage, performance and individuality, Canados remains a benchmark of timeless quality.
