French yard Couach was founded in 1897 by Albert Couach, with his grandson Guy Couach later leading the yard into a new era of building performance luxury yachts made from composite. In 1970 Couach launched Aramat, which was one of the first luxury yachts built from Kevlar composite. Over the years, the yard changed hands but remained committed to its vision of building sleek, fast luxury yachts, building semi-custom projects up to 50m in length. The yard built a reputation for using exotic and lightweight composite materials, including fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon fibre.
