With a shipbuilding history stretching back to 1575, Picchiotti carries a legacy that is quietly felt across the industry. This Italian house began its journey in Limite sull’Arno, crafting vessels that have transitioned through every major era of seafaring evolution. Today, as a pillar of The Italian Sea Group, the brand has returned to its roots while embracing a bold, modern technical roadmap.
The current fleet centers on the Gentleman’s Yacht range, a series of aluminum motor yachts that blend nostalgic 1960s silhouettes with cutting-edge efficiency. These yachts are more than just stylish cruisers; they are engineered with an explorer’s heart. Owners can expect long-range autonomy and a focus on environmental responsibility through hybrid propulsion options.
Whether commissioning a compact 78’7” (24m) or a sprawling flagship, the process remains deeply rooted in Italian craftsmanship. Every build is handled within a world-class facility in Marina di Carrara, ensuring that the legacy of this four-century-old yard continues to set benchmarks. It is a smart choice for those who value heritage and refined, go-anywhere performance.

Picchiotti Yachts
Picchiotti is famed for its custom and semi-custom contemporary motor yachts. Now part of the esteemed shipyard Perini Navi, Picchiotti was originally established in 1600. Although experts in all that they did, from the construction of steel battleships to wooden sailing yachts, Picchiotti were particularly known as pioneers of the leisure boat concept. In the Italian town of Limite sull’Arno, the yard began building luxury yachts alongside military and commercial vessels, and earned themselves a growing reputation in this field. Picchiotti continued to develop and produce high quality private vessels for this purpose for years to come, relocating the Viareggio as key members of the Italian shipbuilding industry.
After centuries of success, the Picchiotti brand was purchased by the Perini Navi Group in 2007, who eventually relocated all of their luxury motor yacht construction to the flagship Picchiotti yard in La Spezia. With the incorporation of Picchiotti into the Perini Navi Group, the company was given a new purpose and direction, with exciting new projects developed to reflect the changing superyacht market. In 2007, a lasting collaboration between Picchiotti and Phillipe Briand and and Vitruvius Ltd began creating stand out steel and aluminium vessels, such as the award winning 164’ (50m) explorer yacht M/Y Exuma, and the brand’s flagship vessel 239’ (73m) M/Y Grace E. The Picchiotti brand perfectly complements Perini Navi’s excellence in sailing yacht construction, building yachts that are highly-engineered and designed to perform and to go anywhere. The yard is working on a number of designs from its ‘Voyager’ series and also has a number of concepts on offer.
