Sunrise Yachts emerged in 2006 to bridge the gap between Northern European quality and competitive Mediterranean production. Based in the Antalya Free Zone, the shipyard quickly built a reputation for constructing high-volume, full-custom superyachts that challenge traditional size-to-volume ratios. Its focus on steel and aluminum construction has consistently appealed to experienced owners who prioritize ocean-going stability and long-range autonomy.

The yard's trajectory has been defined by its ability to secure major contracts and work with the industry's most respected designers. By operating from modern, climate-controlled facilities, Sunrise ensures that its builds meet the rigorous standards expected by an international clientele. Its portfolio includes both sleek performance yachts and voluminous displacement vessels, all tailored to specific owner visions.

While the shipyard’s output is highly selective, each delivery has significantly boosted its global standing. The strategic acquisition by a private investment fund in 2016 provided further financial depth to support ambitious projects. For owners seeking a collaborative build journey in a modern Turkish setting, Sunrise offers a blend of artisanal craftsmanship and industrial-scale capability.

An Overview of the Shipyard's History, Specialty, Iconic Builds, and Partnerships

Sunrise Yachts

In 2005, a yachtsman and a builder sat down in Istanbul to discuss a project. It was during and after this meeting that Herbert P. Baum and Guillaume Roché built the foundation of what would become Sunrise Yachts. Using decades of experience in the industry, the two German and British/French company founders created a shipyard famed for its high quality builds.

Their first build launched in 2009, the stylish motor yacht 147’2’’ (44.85m) M/Y Africa, with the yard continuing to producing high-quality, high-tensile steel and aluminium or composite yachts thereafter, with notable launches including the epic 208’8’’ (63.1m) M/Y Irimari and the stylish 147’ (44.81m) Atom. The construction of each yacht involved a skilled team of international designers, naval architects, engineers and craftsmen work, to ensure the highest of standards were met.

As a Turkish company, the Sunrise fleet were constructed between two large yards located in the Free Zone of Anatalya. The high volume sites allowed Sunrise to produce large vessels between 147’ (45m) and 223’ (68m) in length, as well as offering refit facilities.
