Delos Yacht Charter Guide

A sacred island full of mystery and myths, Delos is bursting with historical ruins and antiquities. This small Greek island is one of the country’s most important archaeological sites and has many museums to explore. The perfect day-trip destination on a charter of the Cyclades, you cannot stay on Delos but can take in its beauty and awe-inspiring past before heading back to your yacht for the evening.

Best time to visit: Warm throughout the year, avoid the crowds and visit in early summer (mid-April to mid-June) or autumn (mid-September to October).

Key cruising areas: There are no hotels or restaurants on Delos, which has been uninhabited since 478 BC. It makes an excellent stop on a charter of the Cyclades islands or a day trip from one of its neighboring islands. Nearby Mykonos offers a very different vibe to Delos. Cosmopolitan with buzzing bars and poolside parties, a day trip from there is a perfect chance to escape to the quieter, cultural activities on Delos.

Don't miss: The Archeological Museum has nine galleries and a huge collection of sculptures found on Delos, it is considered one of the best collections in the world. Make sure to stop by the nearby Minoan Fountain, The Temple of the Delians dedicated to Apollo, and The Terrace of the Lions.

Settlements on Delos date back to the third century BC and the entire island is a UNESCO World Heritage site of archaeological importance.
