The World Superyacht Awards is an annual event to recognise the best and brightest of the yacht industry. From pioneering technologies to transformative rebuilds, its independent committee of industry experts selects yachts that have broken boundaries and inspired the market with innovative designs.
IYC charter yacht M/Y KOJU was selected as the winner of the Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yachts, 35m to 39.9m category. The event was held in London on May 21st and hosted by the leading industry publication, Boat International. Three of IYC’s charter yachts were selected as nominees in various categories. KOJU left a strong impression on the judges with her unique build that includes bright living spaces and spacious sundeck for her size. Delivered in 2021, KOJU's contemporary interior, light-flooded rooms, and modern features are inspired by the glamorous Motopanfilo yachts built over 50 years ago. Accommodating 10 overnight guests in five cabins, she has a multitude of communal spaces and amenities to appeal to a mixed charter group or families alike.
One of her many highlights is the 'cocoon-style’ observation deck that provides an intimate space to enjoy a morning coffee or evening sundowner while taking in sweeping views. The spacious Hamptons-style beach club invites guests to relax in the sun at sea-level and features a retractable fabric canopy providing ample shade when needed; as well as a platform for easy access when enjoying one of the yacht's broad selection of water toys. Her foredeck outdoor pool lounge is yet another exterior space to soak up the sun, with plush sun pads and a large swimming pool. A member of the Boat International judges panel stated that M/Y KOJU has “a pleasant open-air area, not one tucked away in the bowels of the yacht and lacking sunlight”.
