The 121’4” KOJU is the first in Benetti’s new Motopanfilo 37M series, and what a splash it’s made since its launch. A modern reinterpretation of the Italian shipyard’s 1960s 'Navette' is always a recipe for success, but KOJU – which is available to charter in The Bahamas and Caribbean this summer with International Yachting Company (IYC) – raises the bar entirely. It’s an achievement that has culminated in a string of industry awards that celebrate its bold and innovative styling.
Boat International’s 2022 Design & Innovation Awards took place in Milan this month, and the judges singled out KOJU in recognition of the boat’s stand-out qualities, including its “freshly effortless” exterior profile styling and “the clever use of the sundeck hardtop to house a nearly flush and therefore hidden and intimate crow’s nest”. KOJU went on to triumph, scooping two wins – ‘Outstanding Exterior Design, Motor Yachts 24m to 39.9m’ and ‘Best New Series’. The judges added that “the design maximizes the strengths of a displacement yacht and the volume is well used in an appealing exterior deck arrangement, with plentiful exterior seating and lots of dining options.”
This latest round of accolades follows on from the 2021 World Yacht Trophies in Cannes, where it claimed the ‘Best Innovation’ award and at Boat International’s SuperYacht Awards in London 2022, where it won the award for ‘Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts - 35m to 39.9m’.
A special congratulations to all that were involved in this project.
