One of three new appointments in the IYC Fort Lauderdale office, John Booysen has joined IYC as a Yacht Sales Consultant. Having worked as a broker for over 15 years, following a successful career as a superyacht captain, John combines practical yachting experience with a deep understanding of the brokerage market. Hailing from South Africa, John Booysen developed a love for the ocean at an early age. Working as a captain, he sailed extensively prior to making South Florida his home with his wife and two children. In 2000 John made the transition from being a captain to yacht brokerage. In that time frame, he gained an expansive knowledge of a multitude of yacht size and classes. His onboard experience taught him that quality of construction; a solid management and crew go hand-in-hand with pleasurable boating, a lesson that he applies to all his dealings to ensure the best possible experience for yacht owners.
