Iacovos Kouppas is the Chief Legal Officer for IYC. He graduated from the London School of Economics and holds both a Bachelor’s in Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law.
Following his university education, Iacovos worked for seven years with PwC Law before joining EY Law in 2017, where he was a Director and in charge of the Corporate and Digital Law team. He has been an active member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2011.
Iacovos specializes in corporate and commercial law, as well as intellectual property and digital law matters. He has participated and advised on a number of transactions focused on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, international property, establishing internal corporate governance systems, setting up legal entities, drafting constitutional documents and shareholders’ agreements, and regulating the shareholders’ relationship. Iacovos also has experience advising on corporate litigation disputes, working on various aspects of the regulatory framework relevant to the corporate, commercial, and industrial sectors in Cyprus and the EU.
Following his varied career in different industries, he has a wide range of knowledge of the pharmaceutical, technology, shipping, and energy sectors. He has published a number of articles on corporate and digital law matters, as well as intellectual property protection – a vital discussion point in the 21st century.
