Richard Gray

+44 2079 52 8684

Born in the UK, Richard’s career in yachting started at a young age, where following his university degree, he spent time living on the south coast taking his sailing and powerboat qualifications. Richard then spent a year in the South of France as a crew member on board a number of large sailing yachts, putting his operational skills into practice. Back on dry land, Richard then began his role as senior account manager at media platform, Superyachts.com where he gathered extensive industry knowledge and contacts over several years before joining IYC in March 2017 as Sales & Charter Consultant. Over the past three years with the company, Richard’s achievements have included a number of successful superyacht sales alongside bringing new yachts to the market, hosting high-profile events across the globe and forming strategic partnerships. Further, he was also instrumental in the opening of IYC’s new office in London in Mayfair – a location from which Richard hopes to establish a discerning client base, and grow the energetic in-house team.

TOM ROBERTS

+44 7841 235078

Tom is a sales consultant with many decades of experience in the UK and European brokerage markets. Based in the IYC London office, he has a wealth of experience in the yachting sector and works with clients to assist them in every stage of their acquisition and ownership journey.

Graduating with a degree in Maritime Business from Southampton University, Tom began his brokerage career with Fox’s Yacht Sales, which later became part of the Oyster Yachts Group. While working with Oyster Yachts for 13 years, his role was incredibly varied. In addition to collaborating closely with clients as a broker and consultant, he took on responsibilities that included captaining yachts for sea trials across the world, racing vessels in Oyster Regattas in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, and attending boat shows globally.

The years at Oyster Yachts gave him a unique insight into his customer’s lives, ensuring he understood exactly what his clients were looking for and the lifestyle they aspired to have on board. Tom’s expertise in vessels is extensive, with a keen interest in motor yachts as well as sailing vessels.

Tom is an active member of the Association of British Yacht Brokers (ABYA), and has undertaken many MYBA and YABA certified courses to continually improve his knowledge of the industry. He is also an Oyster Yachts approved Captain certified up to 30m/100ft, an RNLI Coxswain, and RYA Yacht-Master. Sailing since childhood, Tom has an in-depth knowledge of the waters of the UK and the Balearic Islands.

While not working, Tom is a keen racing yachtsman and enjoys sailing his 1932 classic yacht in summer regattas. In 2015, Tom embarked on a new challenge, becoming a Formula 1 powerboat racer and competing in races in the Middle East and the UK.
