Delivering almost 150 yachts since its inception in 1966, Admiral has grown into an internationally-recognised builder of pedigree yachts. Some of the Italian yard’s most renowned vessels include explorer yacht 74m (243’) PLANET NINE, 65m (213’) LIFE SAGA, and 55m (180’) QUINTA ESSENTIA.
In August 2020, the shipyard celebrated the delivery of 55m (180’) GECO, a model from Admiral's S-Force series, which is exclusively available to charter with IYC. Highlights include six spacious cabins – with full-beam master and VIP staterooms – a large sun deck jacuzzi, and numerous spacious outdoor lounge areas to enjoy al fresco living. In September 2020, Admiral celebrated the keel laying of 77.7m (255’) BLUE MARLIN, a diesel-electric vessel designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, as well as the launch of the elegant sky blue hulled 48m (157’) CROCUS.
Another exciting new model from the shipyard is the 65.9m ADMIRAL GC FORCE, which is due to be delivered in 2023. With an interior designed by Mark Berryman (who previously worked on LIFE SAGA), she will accommodate 12 guests serviced by a crew of 16. The exterior design focuses on an indoor/outdoor connection exemplified by a winter garden, large retractable balconies in the main salon, multiple skylights and an expansive beach club.
The next few years will undoubtedly showcase the prowess of Admiral’s design and build team, with the deliveries of 72m (236’) PROJECT METAMORPHOSIS and 73m (240’) PROJECT VISIONARY in 2024, both sold by IYC. With these impressive new designs, the shipyard has firmly established itself as a go-to builder in the 50m+ yacht segment. It was recently included within The Superyacht Buyer Report as one of the market’s leading shipyards in the 60-70m category.
IYC and Admiral have been working closely together for over a decade, with eight new build project collaborations since 2010 “Admiral has matured in terms of client focus and has drastically increased its quality of build, positioning them as one of the leading yards in the superyacht industry” says Michel Chryssicopoulos, IYC’s Global Managing Partner. “The shipyard’s management has demonstrated their passion and their constant strive to improve and we are very excited to be working on innovative projects that will reinvent traditional yacht design.”
“The year 2020 has been very challenging for everyone involved in the nautical industry so far, but thanks to our mid-to-long-term strategies, Admiral has positioned itself as a real frontrunner in yachting,” says Giuseppe Taranto, Vice Chairman of The Italian Sea Group. “With several projects under construction, two yacht launches and the recently agreed PROJECT VISIONARY, we are demonstrating our full commitment to becoming a top player in this specific sector and illustrating our strength in the 60-90m segment.”
At present, Admiral has one of the largest drydocks in the Mediterranean accommodating vessels up to 100m. In addition to its new build projects, the shipyard offers full refit services and recently announced plans to expand its facilities, increasing its already impressive production area of 100,000sqm.
A global player in the yacht market, Admiral boasts a strong presence in Asia thanks to its association with Tecnomar and an exclusive partnership with the China Equity Group. These connections position the shipyard as one of the go-to shipyards for discerning Asian clients in the region.
