Vripack and IYC have developed Futura with a range of market-leading, sustainable technologies, designed to eliminate the yacht’s environmental footprint as much as possible. These include bio-batteries – which uses salt, sand and water rather than lithium – and kite powered wind generation. Futura’s striking design also includes a statement crystal palace of glass on the hull, a 55 square-meter swim platform, a DJ booth, cinema, helicopter pad, and sun pool. She can accommodate 14 guests and 14 crew.
Futura’s contemporary flow of the general arrangement has been created with the modern client in mind, with various flexible social spaces, furniture arrangements and communal areas. “Working with clients and the IYC team when creating this concept, we noticed among younger people there is a quicker pace of life, which has a strong element of socialising,” says Co-creative Director Bart Bouwhuis. He adds that Vripack and IYC would be delighted to adapt the design to cater to any individual owners’ needs and requirements.
“It has been as always a pleasure to work with Vripack, as creative directors Bart and Marnix create a concept solely based on the client’s profile and lifestyle. Any of the client’s requests or ideas are translated into a unique and groundbreaking project, all while maintaining a buildable and liveable yacht. It sounds simple, but it's not and Vripack nailed it with this concept. I hope to see M/Y Futura project in the water very soon,” says Michel Chryssicopoulos, Global Managing Partner at IYC.
