IYC, Lürssen and ThirtyC Yacht Design present exciting new beach club retrofit concept for 279’2’’ (85.1m) M/Y VALERIE

11th March 2020
As one of the most exciting custom brokerage yachts on the market – listed exclusively for sale by Richard Gray at IYC – 279’2’’ (85.1m) M/Y VALERIE has a near endless list of amenities. Masterfully built by Lürssen in 2011, VALERIE combines exterior styling by the renowned Espen Øino and interior finishing by the in-demand Reymond Langton Design. Adding to her appeal, a brand new beach club retrofit concept has now been released by IYC in conjunction with Lürssen and ThirtyC Yacht Design to show how the potential addition of this popular design feature would enhance VALERIE’s beautiful design even further.
ThirtyC’s beach club concept for VALERIE is a serene space that would make use of the existing large stern area to create a water’s-edge base, with the option of a stunning glass ceiling that looks up through the swimming pool above to create a unique lighting atmosphere by day and night. The design includes removable seating, which will allow for additional storage for toys or conversion to a gym for a work-out with a view. This design and space can be easily tailored to suit a potential buyer and their guests.

“The addition of the beach club to VALERIE creates another key guest area; the space allows for both guest arrival and disembarkment along with a relaxation space and can be turned into an entertainment area as required, creating a truly multifaceted area for all to enjoy,” says Rob Armstrong, Creative Director of Thirty C Yacht Design.

Developing a beach club option for VALERIE is a move that makes sense, with increased demand for this design feature on yachts, and a retrofit being a smart way to upgrade the yacht with little investment when compared to the purchase price of a new build. “Back in 2007, when VALERIE was drawn on paper, a beach club was not a major area of interest for that generation of owners, hence the huge sun deck with 6m swimming pool that we have in its place,” says Richard Gray, IYC Sales Broker and central agent for VALERIE. “With the inclusion of the beach club, it could be the missing piece that buyers are looking for, that brings VALERIE in line with current new build launches and, in most cases, outweighs the brokerage market competition.”

The ability to give guests close proximity to the water is one of the main drivers behind the rising popularity of ‘beach club’ spaces, together with increasing options for water toys and equipment. “Independently from the size of yacht, people just want to spend more time closer to the one element that makes yachting possible… water!” says Alberto Perrone Da Zara, Sales Director for Lurssen Refit. “As yachts go up in size, the craving for water grows more and more, and extra space means the possibilities for beach clubs are exponentially bigger.” With Lürssen the original builder of Valerie, the yard’s specialist refit division is the obvious choice when selecting a builder to creating a new beach club space on board. “We have the in house capacity to dramatically transform the stern of a yacht, allowing guests to get very, very close to the water,” adds Perrone Da Zara. “Our team delivers careful planning, flawless engineering and smart manufacturing for the best possible end result.”

This proposed addition for VALERIE is sure to tempt potential buyers. All enquiries around the beach club concept for VALERIE are welcomed.
