French Cay, Turks and Caicos
Once used as a hideaway by a notorious pirate, French Cay is now a bird sanctuary and, from January to March, one of the Caribbean's best locations for spotting large pelagic species. Visibility often exceeds 100m, and with frequent humpback whale sightings, it is an excellent destination for a liveaboard diving itinerary. For a change of pace, sail a few miles to nearby Molasses Reef, where you'll find an intriguing ancient shipwreck.
Bloody Bay Wall, Little Cayman
The smallest of the Cayman Islands is home to one of the Caribbean's most spectacular wall dives. The ledge begins at 20 feet and plunges dramatically to a depth of 22,000 feet, covered with some of the largest barrel sponges found in the region. The vibrant coral gardens and crevices are home to an abundance of marine life, including triggerfish, horse-eye jacks, groupers, turtles, reef sharks, and stingrays.
Walker's Cay, The Bahamas
For shark diving, Walker's Cay is a renowned destination. Local dive masters conduct controlled shark-feeding dives, allowing experienced divers to observe reef sharks in their natural environment, sometimes in remarkable numbers.
The Aquarium, British Virgin Islands
As its name suggests, this site off the western coast of Virgin Gorda offers excellent opportunities to observe marine life. The warm waters of the British Virgin Islands are home to an impressive variety of tropical species, including blue tangs, parrotfish, stingrays, and nurse sharks. Calm, shallow conditions also make it an ideal location for beginner divers.
Bianca C, Grenada
The largest diveable wreck in the Caribbean, the Bianca C has transformed into a thriving artificial reef since sinking in the 1960s. Corals, fan corals, and green sea turtles now thrive across the wreck. Certified wreck divers can enter parts of the ship, while experienced divers can explore the structure, including its recognizable swimming pool remains.
Cow and Calf Rocks, US Virgin Islands
Distinctive rock formations make Cow and Calf Rocks one of the Caribbean's best locations for snorkeling and shallow dives. A short tender ride brings you to rock caverns, natural arches, and ledges surrounded by colorful schools of fish. Above the surface, the dramatic rocky outcrops provide equally impressive scenery.
Saba Island, Dutch Caribbean
Saba's volcanic origins have created an extraordinary underwater landscape of towering pinnacles, tunnels, and lava slopes. The island offers rewarding dives for every experience level, while its warm waters support an impressive variety of marine life, including blacktip, bull, and hammerhead sharks. Depending on the season, divers may also spot manta rays or whale sharks passing through these waters.
The Blue Hole, Belize
At 1,000 feet wide and more than 400 feet deep, the Great Blue Hole is the largest marine sinkhole of its kind in the world. Its dramatic stalactite formations attract divers from around the world. Located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area is also home to shoals of parrotfish, angelfish, reef sharks, and, on occasion, hammerhead sharks.

Cozumel is renowned for some of the Caribbean's most colorful reef dives. More than 500 species of fish and around 100 types of coral create an extraordinary underwater landscape in crystal-clear waters. With options for both recreational and technical divers, the area caters to a wide range of experience levels. Santa Rosa Wall offers an accessible intermediate wall dive, while snorkeling from shore provides equally rewarding encounters with vibrant marine life.
