Founded in 1973 in Sanremo, Italy, Amer Yachts operates under the Permare Group and has built a reputation around intelligent engineering rather than volume production. From the outset, the yard has focused on a clearly defined segment: semi-displacement motor yachts designed for owners who value range, efficiency, and ease of operation over sheer size. Production remains deliberately limited, allowing for close control across design, engineering, and build execution.
What sets Amer apart is its technical philosophy. Hull forms are developed in-house and paired with IPS propulsion systems that are tuned specifically for long-range cruising at moderate speeds. The result is reduced fuel consumption, lower noise levels, and a noticeably smooth ride. Construction in composite materials supports these goals, keeping weight down while maintaining structural integrity and onboard comfort.
Models such as the Amer 94 and Amer 100 reflect this approach clearly. Interiors prioritize practicality and livability, with layouts suited to extended time onboard rather than short coastal trips. For experienced owners who enjoy being involved in the operation of their yacht, Amer offers a focused alternative to more mainstream production builders.

Amer Yachts
Fernando Amerio founded the The Permare Group in the 1970s as a tribute to his passion for the seas. With humble origins as a technical assistance center, it has grown into a key Italian shipyard producing high quality motor yachts. The Permare Group are most famous for their Amer series, a line of motor yachts first launched in the 2000s. The selection of models in the Amer series currently range from 86 to 116 feet in length, and are custom built in the shipyard in Italy. Amer models have won numerous design awards over the years, including “most innovative 24-36 metre vessel” in the 2014 for the Amer Centro, “Boat of the Year” at the 49th Genoa International Boat Show for the Amer 116’, and International Design Award (IDA) recognition for the Amer 94 Twin in 2018.
The brand credits a blend of innovation, passion and tradition for its success with a strong client base. Whether a sport or long range vessel, cutting edge technologies and systems are used to create state of the art superyachts. Permare vessels appeal to both private and charter use, with a host of customizable luxury features available and high standard Italian finishes.
