An invitation-only regatta that features the world’s top racing sailboats, St Barths Bucket is undoubtedly a highlight on the yachting calendar. And as St Barths offers the perfect blend of vibrant Caribbean culture, warm weather, high-end boutiques, five-star gastronomic experiences and laid-back beach vibes, spectators flock to the island each March to savor the unique spirit of the event. 

In recent years at the St Barths Bucket, 40 or more superyachts have gathered to compete in a series of races over three days. The historic regatta is renowned for its competitive nature and brings together some of the world’s best sailing yachts over 100ft. And after an exhilarating day on the waves, the entertainment is only just getting started. The St Barths party scene is one of the best in the Caribbean and it truly comes to life during the regatta. The three-day event will feature a packed social calendar – with parties and events until the early hours to celebrate the activities of the day. 

Having fun on the water isn’t limited to those sailing in the regatta. Chartering a yacht is an excellent way to be at the heart of the sailing races while enjoying your own private sanctuary. This year the event will be held from 17-20 March and several of IYC’s premium vessels will be available during the St Barths Regatta, such as the opulent 230' (70.1m) FREEDOM. Built by Benetti in 2001, FREEDOM underwent a comprehensive refit in 2016 to maintain her impeccable condition. The 12 guests on board will be served by 25 crewmembers, and will enjoy her gym, spa beauty parlor, two Jacuzzis and large toy collection.

With a pool, several bars, a media room, cinema, large collection of water toys, and a golf machine for guests to enjoy, 208'4" (63.5m) LIONESS V is a fantastic option for guests who like to socialize. And since her multi-million dollar refit in 2017, MIA ELISE II presents an excellent platform on which to enjoy St Barths Bucket. Guests can relax on her multiple exterior spaces while watching all the racing action and even take a dip in the ocean from her inflatable slide!
