A.J. MacDonald joins IYC as Sales Consultant
IYC is pleased to announce that A.J. MacDonald has joined its team, operating out of the IYC Fort Lauderdale office as Yacht Sales Consultant. A.J. is the latest in a line of well-known names to join the IYC team, with a particular growing presence in the all-important North American market. “I am proud to represent one of the most cutting edge and forward thinking companies in the industry,” he says.
Growing up in the UK’s picturesque The Cotswolds, A.J. moved to the South of France in 2000 where he quickly became immersed in the world of superyachts and began his long career in the yachting industry. Working on board superyachts for 12 years, he travelled extensively throughout the Mediterranean, Bahamas and Caribbean, gaining first-hand experience of these popular yachting hubs. This time working on board yachts proved hugely valuable, giving him an in depth knowledge and experience into the quality, mechanics and maintenance of superyachts, as well as a strong understanding of the expected high levels of client service.
All this experience meant that a move into brokerage was a natural step for A.J. and after meeting his wife, herself a former charter broker and manager, in 2012 he relocated to Fort Lauderdale to begin working as a yacht broker. In his role as a Sales Broker A.J. combines his passion for the yachting industry with his impressive knowledge of the wider yachting industry and hands on practical experience. He has built a reputation for attention to detail, market insight and strong interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-oriented approach and prides himself on building longstanding client relationships.
