July 6th – 14th: Running of the Bulls, Pamplona, Spain
A somewhat controversial event, this is definitely an experience! Perhaps best watched from a private balcony, the event has a fascinating history and as it has grown it has developed and incredible atmosphere. In the evening wander down some of the smaller streets to find a taverna away from the masses and enjoy the tapas and wine that Spain is best known for.
July 15th – 17th: Ultra Europe, Split, Croatia
One of the biggest dance music festivals in the world, Ultra Europe boasts endless beach parties and music, set against the stunning Adriatic Coast. In previous years the line-up has included big names including Tiesto and Armin van Buuren, and draws visitors from all over the world.
July 18th: Ultra Europe Yacht Regatta, Brač, Croatia
Following Ultra Europe, you don’t have to wait long to continue the party at the exclusive Ultra Yacht Regatta. Escape the crowds at Spilt and enjoy a sail along the Dalamatian Coast to the quieter and more exclusive feel of the festival on Brač.
July 23rd: Monaco Red Cross Ball
Hosted by Monacan royalty, the glamorous and prestigious Red Cross Ball has become a legendary event, and is a chance to enjoy a fantastic social event for a well-deserving cause. Previous artists have included Elton John, Anastasia and Tom Jones, and this year will see Lana del Ray performing.
August 4th – 8th: Soundwave festival, Tisno, Croatia
Organized by top London promoters, since it’s beginning eight years ago this festival draws many returning partiers. With a more ‘artistic’ genre, the festival hosts many street artists and illustrators, and an outside cinema hosting independent films, giving the festival a very special ‘boutique’ feel.
August 15th: Assumption Day, Greece
On this day Greeks all over the country are celebrating one of Christianity’s most important days, the “Dormition of Virgin Mary”. In every corner of the country, local communities hold a festival each with its own customs and traditions. The largest celebration is held on the island of Tinos; the festival lasts for two days and includes various liturgies in the church of Panagia Megalochari and a litany of the Virgin Mary’s icon, discovered in 1823 and considered to be miraculous.
Sept 6th – 11th: Cannes Yachting Festival
Set in the glittering bay, new companies and regular exhibitors gather to present their new releases. Yacht enthusiasts from across the world come to soak up the unique atmosphere of this in-water show, and peruse over 550 yachts on display. Perfect food for thought for yacht enthusiasts.
September 23rd – 26th Monaco Yacht Show, Monaco
A huge 9,000 square metres of exhibition space is the show case for the biggest brokerages and leading innovators in the yachting industries. Held in the beautiful Port Hercules, the bustling event attracts around 30,000 visitors who come to admire the best the superyacht industry has to offer including one-off designs and newly launched superyachts.
Sept 24th – October 2nd Les Voiles de St Tropez Regatta
For 27 years this event has been getting better and better, and 2016 promises to be the most exciting event yet. Beautiful classics and stunning modern yachts gather to compete for the Rolex Trophy, encouraging supporters and enthusiasts from around the world. Thrilling races and endless on-shore social events will show you Cannes at its most spectacular!
October 2nd Space closing party, Ibiza
Always one of the biggest events on the Ibiza calendar, the famous nightclub is pulling out all the stops for its last ever closing party in 2016. Named “Best Global Club” four times, the huge club hosts some of the biggest names in the business and is famous worldwide. Details for 2016 are still to be revealed, but it is sure to impress.
