IYC is thrilled to announce THIS IS IT, a groundbreaking project which sets a new benchmark in yacht design. With 7 projects under construction together, this launch marks yet another significant milestone in the relationship between IYC and The Italian Sea Group.
The Italian Sea Group announced today the launch of 143' (43.5m) THIS IS IT, the new motor catamaran of the Tecnomar fleet, sold by IYC and project managed by Michel Chryssicopoulos, Global Managing Partner, IYC.
THIS IS IT represents an exciting new presence on the catamaran landscape, defying conventional thinking with its unique and innovative design. Tradition and innovation come together to create a concept of radical lifestyle and elegance, defined by a layout with striking asymmetries and a bold, eye-catching silhouette enveloped by more than 600 square meters of impressive glass windows.
Michel Chryssicopoulos commented, "This is definitely one of the most exciting and ground breaking projects we have ever worked on! Today’s launch further validates the trailblazing path the Italian Sea Group is setting as a leader in innovation and design. We are looking forward to the yacht’s delivery in early 2024 and her super exciting addition to the IYC global charter fleet."
Giovanni Constantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group commented, "the realisation of this extraordinary project challenges the 'conventional' perceptions, driving us to completely recreate the boundaries of aesthetic parameters. THIS IS IT is born as the perfect blend between the desires of a forward-thinking owner and a brand like Tecnomar, capable of taking on such an ambitious and demanding challenge. We will present this iconic yacht for the world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show."
An architectural masterpiece, the yacht's inspiration is technological, far from yachting design as we know it. The exterior lines, sinuous and soft, evoke fantastic sea creatures, challenging perceptions of what is truly possible. This is a project that goes beyond the status quo, establishing a new benchmark as an iconic project.
The hull design has been fine-tuned to improve hydrodynamic efficiency, resulting in a significant decrease in fuel consumption and, consequently, emissions. To meet the IMO Tier III regulations, the yacht is equipped with advanced exhaust gas treatment technology known as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), aimed at reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
The interior layout boats 6 cabins, a massage room, and a galley equipped with polarized glass for hosting events and show cooking, mirroring the futuristic concept of the exterior design. The interior is enriched with intricate details and the use of sophisticated materials.
The expansive owner's area, featuring an impressive 11' (3.3m) high skylight and a stunning panoramic terrace, also includes a unique vertical garden that spans two decks, creating the ambiance of a coastal villa. The interior design harmoniously combines materials such as leather, Alcantara, oak, and teak, which interact with fluid, boldly geometric cuts and accents of grey marble.
The overall atmosphere is dynamic, evoking a sense of movement and sportiness, yet the color palette maintains an air of elegance and sophistication, predominantly featuring light tones of beige and platinum grey. The addition of noble metals like gold, bronze, titanium, and carbon creates a luxurious contrast against the soothing backdrop of natural wood tones and leather finishes, adding a touch of opulence to the design.
