The infamous Monaco Yacht Show was founded in 1991 and as the show grew in popularity so did the caliber and length of the yachts. In 2002 the event hosted 65 yachts and attracted nearly 15,000 visitors. In 2016, the event had more than doubled its 2002 attendance numbers and increased the number of yachts in Port Hercules to 125. That same year, the Monaco Yacht Show launched an exhibition space for luxury automobiles called Car Deck. The Car Deck exhibition has included automobiles from Aston Martin, Bentley, Hemmels, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Mercedes-Benz. The history and evolution of the Monaco Yacht Show, brings us to present day where the event represents the pinnacle of luxury. Due to covid the show was on hiatus in 2020 but it is back for 2021 in all its glory.
This year the Monaco Yacht Show will be held from September 22-25th 2021, with a brand-new format dedicated to superyacht enthusiasts. The show will be set in a safe environment, with the participation of major players from across the industry. The organizers of the MYS have presently confirmed that 300 exhibitors will be participating. They have also announced that nearly 60 superyachts will be exhibited, including 40 brand-new launches by some of the most famous shipyards.
