The sailing yacht Hyperion offers both high tech performance and nautical style luxury. This elegant vessel was built to the highest standards by Dutch yard Royal Huisman in 1998, and has been excellently maintained and appropriately upgraded since.
Hyperion returned to Royal Huisman in 2014/2015 for a full refit, expertly carried out by her original builders, and was further refitted in 2020. This project saw a number of changes that include, but are not limited to, the installation of a new switchboard, new teak decking, a repainted hull and superstructure, an upgraded propulsion shaft and propeller, upgrades to navigation and communication electronics in addition to PLC system replacement.

Hyperion’s interior is a classical nautical design by Pieter Beeldsnijder. The main salon offers a refined space to relax, whether the day has been spent racing or slowly cruising towards a new anchorage. Arranged over two levels, the different areas in this salon give a feeling of spaciousness and privacy. On the upper level, comfortable sofas are arranged around a retractable television on the port side, with a dining suite found starboard. A few steps lead down to the lower level, where a second lounge space holds more comfortable seating and a retractable piano. The pilothouse is a more casual space that offers yet more lounge seating and panoramic views from wraparound windows. The master cabin is an impressive retreat with a generous study area and opulent grey marble bathroom. Further accommodation is offered as a double en suite cabin and a twin en suite cabin. A captain’s cabin and two triple berths cabins make up the crew accommodation.
The yacht’s large and uncluttered decks are beautiful, and offer ample space for sunbathing. A retractable swim platform is perfect for ocean access when at anchor, and Hyperion has a range of water toys to choose from. Dive enthusiasts will enjoy the fully equipped dive locker, located in the lazarette.
Originally built for a highly experienced yachtsman, Hyperion has always been a trailblazer, installed with the latest yachting technology. She offers just as much as a racer as it does a cruising vessel, with her racing credentials proven at the St. Barth's Bucket, Superyacht Cup Palma and New Zealand’s Millennium Cup. New sails from North Sails in 2016 leave her ready to win more races. As a sailing yacht there is no limit to her cruising distance, but even when under power she has an impressive range of 2,600nm.
