Leopard Yachts was launched in 1973 by Cantiere Navale Arno, a Pisa-based shipyard with roots dating back to 1907. Originally a builder of wooden workboats, the yard entered the luxury sector with a sharp focus on speed, styling, and Mediterranean cruising. The first fiberglass models followed in the 1980s, bringing improved efficiency and higher performance to yachts built in the 24-meter (78’9”) to 46-meter (150’11”) range.

What set Leopard apart was its distinctive blend of naval architecture and interior volume. Designed for open-air living, most models featured spacious main salons, fold-down balconies, and generous sunpads, with naval design from Andrea Bacigalupo. Triple-engine setups and planing hulls became standard in the larger models, giving Leopard a reputation for yachts that could exceed 40 knots in comfort.

After a pause in production, the brand was reintroduced by Seven Stars Marina & Shipyard in 2021. New designs continue to reflect the same core DNA of sleek profiles, strong lines, and high-performance engineering. With more than 90 yachts delivered and a growing owner network across Europe and beyond, Leopard remains a benchmark for fast, stylish motor yachts built with purpose.

An Overview of the Shipyard's History, Specialty, Iconic Builds, and Partnerships

Leopard Yachts

Leopard Yachts was an Italian shipyard based in the city of Pisa. Founded in 1907 by the Picchiotti family, the brand began making pleasure craft in the 1970s. Following the launch of their first fiberglass vessel in 1984, Leopard gained a strong following. Vessels from this early period include M/Y Mistral, M/Y Cariddi and M/Y Tiger. By the 2000’s Leopard were producing some of the most powerful motoryachts on the market, boasting speeds of over 40 knots. Globally recognized by their sleek silhouette, Leopard vessels from this era are fast and sporty “open” style vessels. Notable builds from this period include the impressive 112' (34.14m) vessels 112' (34.14m) M/Y Kidi One and 112' (34.14m) M/Y Asaska, and the huge 151’1’’ (46.2m) M/Y Lisa IV.

Leopard employed a team of experts to produce high quality vessels, adopting the latest technologies, industry advancements and best materials in the construction of their fleet. A combination of high performance and Italian craftsmanship define the brand.
