IYC CONTINUES TO EXPAND AMIDST THE PANDEMIC

25th September 2020
Despite the cancellation of boat shows, travel restrictions, and various external events that have impacted the market, IYC has opened new offices, made new partnerships, retained its workforce, added yachts to its charter fleet, conducted refits and new build sales. The IYC team have proven to be experts in the yachting industry, as they continue to excel and outperform the competition.
In 2020 IYC has so far sold over 25 yachts between January and September, and was ranked first among the Large Yacht Brokers Association (LYBRA) for the number of yachts sold in the first six months of the year. One of the most notable sales of this year to date is the 72m Project Metamorphosis, a new build by the Italian shipyard, Admiral. The continued success in the yacht market, a result of the team’s goal-oriented mindset, is what makes it the company to turn to for results.

IYC’s new office location in London will open on the 1st of October 2020. Located in the heart of the iconic Mayfair area, the new space is perfectly placed to serve IYC’s strong client base in London and the rest of the UK. This affluent area is home to beautiful leafy streets, trendy restaurants, and art galleries. In fact, the new IYC office is in the same building as the renowned Offer Waterman art gallery. A specialist in modern British art, the gallery is a perfect neighbor for this high-end yacht company.

Another exciting development for the brand this summer, IYC opened a new office in the US yachting hub of Newport, Rhode Island, and is also looking to expand by opening an office in either the Caribbean or Bahamas. These offices join the IYC global locations in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Nantucket, the Great Lakes, Monaco, Greece, Russia, Croatia, Montenegro, Scandinavia and Cyprus. All of the offices are strategically located around the world to best serve the company’s clients and provide round-the-clock assistance to its fleet of yachts.

“Despite the global challenges of 2020, IYC’s continued expansion in major yachting hubs around the world illustrates our commitment to provide our clients with personal service of the highest standard, and our resolve of being one of the leading international yachting companies,” says IYC CEO, Stefanos Makrymichalos.

As the company continues to grow, IYC consistently ranks among the top global brands in the yacht market. IYC manages the largest charter fleet globally, with over 100 yachts on its books, including some of the newest yachts in the market: the 52m Lady Lena, and the 55m Geco, both of which were delivered in 2020, and 80m Tatiana which will be delivered in 2021.

Further securing its place as the go-to luxury travel brand, IYC has also partnered with renowned private aviation company, Magellan Jets, to deliver the pinnacle of private travel experience and safety to its clients. IYC is also currently working on initiatives with One&Only Resorts, Master & Dynamics, Avor Caviar, Bahamas based Romora Bay Resort and Marina and Sibarth Real Estate in St Barth. These initiatives and partnerships even further solidify IYC’s status as the top yacht company in the industry.

Since its relaunch in 2015, the new management team has transformed IYC into one of the fastest growing companies in this niche industry. The company has grown at a rate of 30% annually and has quadrupled both its geographic footprint and revenues over the course of the last 5 years.
