While yacht sales may have started the year slower than the post-pandemic years, IYC has seen a continuous increase in yachts for sale and driven impressive transactions forward. May was an extremely strong month, with IYC's sales consultants closing deals on 11 yachts.
Last May was one of IYC's strongest months, with total sales valuing $974 million. This May has continued to follow suit thanks to further company expansion, collaborations, and expertise in pricing yachts correctly, avoiding market stagnation. In the initial quarter of 2024, IYC has achieved notable performance in quarterly sales, surpassing figures compared to Q1 in 2023.
The diverse sales translate to an average of 2.5 yachts a week and spanned motor and sailing yachts from renowned builders, including those fresh from refits and new build projects.
Here is a roundup of the sales from May:
Refit & Refreshed
Standout sales included the 157' (47.9m) Christensen motor yacht AMORE, purchased by a client represented by Michael Selter following recent upgrades. The yacht is also sought-after on the charter scene due to its flexible configurations, accommodating 12 guests. AMORE's new owner benefitted from the upgrades, including a full paint job. Other refitted yachts sold include the 144' (44m) Heesen DALOLI, with Michel Chryssicopoulos representing the seller. Accommodation onboard DALOLI is for up to 12 guests, and it boasts an impressive sundeck with a Jacuzzi and spacious dining areas.
Charter Potential
Pierre Vezilier represented the seller of the 147-foot (45-meter) Viudes yachts/Mondomarine HEMABEJO, which offers exceptional charter potential. Thanks to its expansive interior and exterior, six cabins, and a wide range of onboard amenities, the yacht's new owner can take advantage of this charter opportunity. Costas Dimopoulos introduced the buyer to the 131' (40-meter) Heesen yacht MAC BREW. Thanks to multiple refits and enhancements, the yacht is ready for its new owner to enjoy and will join the IYC charter fleet.
New Builds
Another exciting achievement this month was the resale of this first superyacht in the Admiral 72 Giorgio Armani series. Michel Chryssicopoulos facilitated the resale and is managing upgrades for the new owner. Once additional upgrades are made, the project is slated for delivery in April 2025. The second Admiral 72 will debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024.
In-House
There were also deals this month where IYC represented both the buyer and the seller. The 75' (23m) RIVA M3 was sold by Adam Levine, who represented both parties. Accommodating up to eight guests, plenty of toys, and alfresco dining and lounging opportunities, the RIVA M3 has been maintained in turnkey condition, ready for the new owner. The 108' (33m) San Lorenzo POLITEIA was sold by Sebastian Jerolimov, who also represented both parties. Meticulously maintained and privately used, the yacht boasts large decks and volumes and comfortably cruises at 26 knots.
Sportier Sales
Other sales successes included renowned yachts on the regatta racing scene, like the 100' (31m) WALLY Y3K, sold by Michel Chryssicopoulos, who connected the buyer. Ready to get back to racing, the yacht can accommodate up to eight guests and has been well-maintained and upgraded with advanced technologies. This month, Michel Chryssicopoulos also introduced the buyer in the sale of the 66' (20m) Uniesse EASY BLUE. Meanwhile, Mark Elliott sold two motor cruisers ready for the new owners to enjoy. He represented the seller in the sale of WRECKLESS, the 104' (32m) Cheoy Lee, and S CAPE, the 95' (29m) Sunseeker motor yacht, where he also represented the seller.
