Alaska is a truly impressive destination, that one could argue, is unlike any other yacht charter destination in the world. Separated from the rest of the US by Canada, Alaska is a state of dramatic landscapes, glaciers and mountains, and abundant wildlife that has thrived in this sparsely populated land.
With stunning fjords and glaciers, Alaska is recognized as a premier yachting destination, and by chartering a private yacht you will experience the pristine landscapes in a way that select few can.
Your Alaskan cruise can include day trips to visit the national parks, explore the small towns and visit the many museums to learn about the history of this incredible state. Auke Bay is a great place to start your trip. It is the capital of Alaska and with no road connections to the rest of the state, you can get here by air or by sea. If this is your first stop on the charter you will immediately realize how fresh and crisp the air is. Another must-see location is Kasnyku Bay, which lies below a gushing waterfall. Head ashore to see the Hidden Falls Hatchery, where thousands of salmon return from the sea every year. It is quite the site, record years have recorded millions of fish returning. Some other adventurous activities in Kasnyku Bay include enjoying a walk to the hot pools where you can soak in nature or perhaps some fly-fishing. Speaking of fishing, if you enjoy this activity you must check out Pybus Bay where you will find the best fresh and saltwater fishing in Alaska! Last but not least, we encourage you to check out Tracy Arm Fjord. Set within the Tongass National Forest, at the end of Tracy Arm you will come up to the humbling sight of the North Sawyer Glacier. Spend some time taking in this imposing feature, before tendering in for an up close view of the icebergs. The nutrient rich, cold water brings many species to live in the shallow area, including corals, rockfish, seals and the Dall’s porpoise, which is found in only a few spots in the world.
Home to North America’s highest peak, the national parks of Alaska provide a unique habitat for bird and animal life. Taking a yacht means you will experience close up views of the pristine waterfalls and enormous icebergs, where the seals sit to try and catch some warmth from the arctic sun.
