Raised in Ibiza, Matthew developed an early passion for the sea, which led him to study Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at UCL, followed by Yacht & Small Craft Design at the University of Southampton.

He moved to Italy to join the rapidly developing large-yacht industry, beginning his career across a range of established shipyards and gaining hands-on experience throughout the full spectrum of yacht design and construction.

For the past 20 years, Matthew has worked as an independent consultant, acting as Project Manager, Owner’s Representative and Surveyor on a diverse portfolio of major new-build and refit projects.

His experience spans every stage of a project, from concept development and engineering through construction oversight, delivery and acceptance, and after-sales support. This breadth of experience gives Matthew a comprehensive technical perspective, combined with a calm, pragmatic and solutions-driven approach to every project.

When he’s not on board or in the shipyard, Matthew can usually be found retreating to his sailing boat - his favourite place to unwind and enjoy some well-earned peace and quiet.
