Held at the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin, in Virginia Key, the event dubs itself “The Five Biggest Days In Boating” and is an impressive showcase of all things yachting, with more than 1300 boats of all sizes on display including a host of spectacular superyachts. A new dedicated marina for superyachts, located at Island Gardens Marina on Watson Island, will be the perfect backdrop for the exhibiting superyachts. “The beautiful new deep water location at Island Garden Marina has been specifically designated for superyachts and is exclusive and high end, with easy access, no traffic, no crowds, and a beautiful outdoor lounge – The Deck – that has picturesque views of Downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay, says Katya Grzeszczak, IYC Sales and Charter Consultant. “It has all the boxes ticked.”
The superyacht brokerage sector has had a strong start to 2018 and Grzeszczak is optimistic about the year ahead and expects a busy show at Miami. “Economy and stock markets are booming, and so is the yachting industry,” she says. “Product is moving, inventory is ever changing, shipyard's new order books are full, it's a very healthy market and we expect it to remain this way for 2018 and far beyond.” Rafferty agrees: “Right now the economy in the U.S. is very strong and it is a good time to invest in hard assets,” he says. “The economy in Europe is also improving and we expect a very good show.”
Grzeszczak believes that owners are increasingly looking to buy yachts that are versatile and well suited to charter. “This year's lineup for the Miami Show will showcase a wide variety of such yachts with great charter potential and subsequently strong resale value,” she says. Silver Cloud and Silver Lining are two stunning examples and are sure to attract significant interest at the show.
SILVER CLOUD:
A truly unique and visionary yacht, Silver Cloud is a SWATH style yacht, built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2008 for a client looking for the most stable yacht in the world. This award-winning yacht has proven her travel and comfort credentials, having cruised around the world and taken on seas of all conditions without any compromise on stability. Her SWATH hull has the added benefit of providing exceptional spaces on board, with huge amounts of volume that allow for large and impressive guest spaces throughout the yacht. “Silver Cloud is the only true expedition yacht on the market that was built to go to sea in almost any condition and has the interior room of a 55 to 60m yacht in a 41m,” says Michael Rafferty. “She had a major refit completed in 2017 and is in excellent condition, and her key features include the largest, safest helicopter deck of any yacht built.”

SILVER LINING:
Delivered by American yard Christensen yachts in 2017, Silver Lining is the only 2017 pedigree fiberglass motoryacht in the world market available today. “Silver Lining is an absolutely unique offering in the world's yacht market today – the largest Christensen build to date, a true 50m with incredible volume, 570 GT, and the newest Christensen available for sale,” says Katya Grzeszczak. “Timeless and elegant, I see her being swept up by a yacht connoisseur who understands and appreciates quality and craftsmanship of American built product, and knows that Christensen is light years ahead of any other builder on this side of the Atlantic… The quality of the build is just superb.” In as new condition, Silver Lining has a full time professional crew onboard and is ready and able to cruise the world tomorrow, with her incredible 4,000 nm range. “The yacht is virtually brand new, hasn't been used since her maiden voyage, and in that sense she is even better than new with 'shakedown cruise' behind her, and all items on the 'punch list' completed by the yard.
