Constructed as a true explorer yacht, the Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY project was developed for high-performance and functionality in all conditions without compromising on style or luxury. “The Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY was conceived in accordance with the original explorer yacht concept, yet features all the characteristics of a modern and absolutely contemporary yacht,” says Cristiana Longarini, Director of VSY. “It is a project that combines the sober elegance with typical Italian taste and savoir-faire, with the aim of making this yacht a point of reference in the category.”
As an Italian yard known for its high-custom projects and expertise in the 60m+ sector, VSY was the ideal choice as the builder in this project partnership. “The project was developed by Hot Lab and presented jointly with our shipyard, which was chosen thanks to the yard’s high quality achievements in the range of over 60 metre yachts and for its commitment to sustainability in both the construction process and its innovative business model,” says Cristiana Longarini, Director of VSY.
On the design spectrum, Hot Lab has built a reputation for its exciting, often radical, designs and their team has succeeded in creating an exceptional concept that is both beautiful and practical. The Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY is characterized by her masculine, yet elegant design with carefully thought out layouts, maximized spaces and huge amounts of storage together with use of natural light and endless views across the ocean. Hardy construction of steel and aluminum will see her able to effortlessly cruise in all conditions. “The play on alternating full and empty spaces as one climbs from one deck to another in the beautiful superstructure is most probably the most characteristic stylistic feature of the exteriors on the Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY,” says Michele Dragoni, partner in charge of styling at Hot Lab.
Her interior is more classically styled, to counter balance the cutting-edge exterior. “The interiors of the Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY are fairly classic and are the result of painstaking studies aimed at optimally balancing outdoor and indoor spaces with the volumes of the yacht,” says Antonio Romano, Partner and Marketing Manager of Hot Lab.
“Accommodation is available in a six or seven cabin layout and in both arrangements the large master cabin is in prime position on the upper deck and includes a full office, 180 degree views, a large bathroom and walk in wardrobes,” says Enrico Lumini, partner and head of interior design at Hot Lab. “Additional cabins include two VIPS, two doubles and two twins. A large guest lobby leads to a lift that connects all decks from the lower deck to bridge deck, and a key space is the main saloon with dining area and sushi and cocktail bar. All spaces are effortlessly linked by a panoramic lift between the lower and bridge decks.”
Other key design features include the helipad on the main deck – essential for easy access in remote locations– a gym and pool on the bridge deck, and an aft deck unencumbered by a transom that can transform into a huge tender garage with beach club and gym. Exterior deck spaces include a large dining and lounge area on the aft upper deck. Technically, a range of 5000nm at 12 knots will give her huge capacity to explore. In taking the popular explorer style and elevating it to a whole new level, the Hot Lab 67 M Explorer by VSY is breaking the mold, combining superior European construction and contemporary modern design. “The synergy between this Italian high-custom builder and the design work of one of the hottest Italian design studios in the world makes her incredibly special,” says Gray.
