Strong presence for IYC at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019

The IYC team are busily gearing up for the 2019 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), which looks set to be better and busier than ever. Over thirty thousand visitors are expected to descend on the iconic Port Hercules during the four-day show, which runs from 25 to 28 September 2019. The show is the biggest event in the superyacht calendar and an unmissable opportunity to see and experience all the latest and greatest that the industry has to offer. IYC will have six impressive yachts to view, with 236’3’’ (72m) M/Y Solo165’ (49.9m) M/Y Samhan, 156’ (47.5m) M/Y Lilium, 153’ (46.40m) M/Y Eight and 151’1’’ (46.30m) M/Y Only One on display in the show, all showcasing the superyacht lifestyle in their own individual ways.
Solo is one of the top 15 largest yachts on display at MYS this year, clocking an impressive 72 metres. This multi-award-winning Tankoa vessel cuts a striking figure and is sure to receive many admiring glances from the show’s attendees. Visitors will be able to appreciate her as new condition and admire her ‘modern, minimalist and warm’ interiors by Francesco Paskowski and Margherita Casprini interiors. She offers charter potential, efficient running costs, low emissions and a huge range, making her an appealing prospect for with savvy investors.

Samhan is perfect for those seeking speed and sophistication, offering top speeds of an exhilarating 40 knots. Built by Overmarine her five opulent en suite cabins are complemented by impressive interior and exterior spaces, with a sophisticated and contemporary interior design by Stefano Righini.

Lilium is one of the newest superyachts on the market, having only launched in 2019. Throughout her five guest cabins and ample entertainment spaces she is the epitome of the Bilgin spirit of luxury with her sleek and clean lines. Key features include a stunning interior and large sundeck with an impressive glass-sided jacuzzi.

Built by Italian yard Baglietto in 2015, Only One is a full displacement steel and aluminium yacht, designed inside and out by Francesco Paszkowski.

A truly standout yacht, Valerie is one of the most impressive and impeccably kept superyachts on the market today. Combining exterior styling by the renowned Espen Øino and interior finishing by the in-demand Reymond Langton Design, she boasts exceptional spaces and a luxurious design and layout. Masterfully built by Lürssen, the fine detailing and exceptional craftsmanship in every element of Valerie’s design is evident wherever you turn. One of the most exclusive yachts available on the charter market, the Maltese Falcon is a floating masterpiece that turns heads wherever she goes. Built in 2010 and fully refitted in 2018, Skyfall has been exceptionally well maintained, giving her the look and feel of a brand new yacht. A stunning yacht with large light-filled spaces Hemabejo 3 was built by pedigree yard Benetti in 2014 and boasts an interior by Francois Zuretti, with exterior design by Stefano Righini. Built by Trinity in 2007, with a refit in 2018, Glaze was the recipient of the coveted Voyager Award at the World Superyacht Awards 2017 thanks to her incredible travel itinerary that took her all around the world. Mirabilis is ideally equipped for relaxing, entertaining and exploration. Only launched in 2018 she boasts countless custom features and large volumes with guest spaces and cabins equivalent to those on a 40-metre yacht. Bright open spaces paired with large exterior decks make her a yacht to enjoy. Seagull of Cayman had a complete technical and cosmetic refit including hull new paint, teak decks, zero hours generators and main engines.

The Monaco Yacht Show itself has evolved almost beyond recognition from the first edition, back in 1991, when it featured just 32 yachts of an average of 31 metres. Fast forward to 2019 and the largest vessel on display is 107 metres, and the average yacht now 49.5 metres, and every available dock space has been taken by over 125 yachts including 42 that are making their worldwide debut.

There is little room for physical expansion, with the show encompassing all of the glittering waterside of Port Hercules. Instead, visitor satisfaction has been the focus of improvement, with recent years seeing the introduction of different themed zones and a better flow through the show. 2019 sees some further changes set to enhance the experience of serious buyers and charter clients. The main difference will be to opening times, with the show now opening from 11am – 7.30 pm (aside from the Saturday which has a 7pm finish), which is designed to give more flexible visiting times for private clients and B2B meetings, and create a more relaxed atmosphere at the show. With over 125 superyachts, 42,000sq meters of exhibition space and 580 exhibitors, visitors are sure to be glad of these extra hours.

IYC has a long relationship with Monaco, with a dedicated Monaco office and team, and will have a strong presence at the show, including the IYC stand – JS19 – on Appontement Jules Soccal.
