IYC ends 2019 on a high

2nd January 2020
2019 has been another year to be proud of for IYC and, as we look back on the past 12 months there have been impressive performances from all divisions.
For the sales team the year ended on a very strong note, with 32 sales recorded ranging up to 208’4’’/63.5m M/Y Waku. Yachts sold by the IYC team in 2019 included the brand-new M/Y Snow 5 (ex Lilium), which launched from Bilgin Yachts in 2019, the impressive M/Y Silver Lining from Christensen and the speedy M/Y Framura 3 from Codecasa. The Burger and Benetti brands proved particularly popular with buyers with four and three sales respectively. For a full list of recent IYC yacht sales click here.

IYC also listed an impressive fleet of superyachts for sale during 2019. Sales fleet additions of note included 236’3’’/72m M/Y SOLO, 279’19”/ 85.10m M/Y Valerie, 262’/80m Galileo 80 and 150’/45.72m M/Y Ionian Princess.

The IYC charter division had an especially noteworthy year, meeting (and then exceeding!) the milestone number of 100 yachts in the charter fleet. We are proud to now offer the biggest luxury charter yacht fleet in the world. New additions to the charter fleet in 2019 included the truly iconic 288’9’’/88m S/Y Maltese Falcon, 73.2m (240’2’’) M/Y Laurel and the brand new 181’1’’/55.2m Gecowhich will launch new from Admiral in 2020. Our expert charter team have visited popular and up and coming destinations all around the world, creating unique itineraries that guarantee a charter to remember.

At IYC we believe that it is important to do good and give back to the world we live in and in 2019 IYC supported a number of philanthropic organisations including HopeGenesis and the Freedom Waters Foundation. Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian on parts of the Bahamas IYC formally supported the YachtAidGlobal fundraiser for the Bahamas and created a Charter For Charity initiative. We were also proud to see many of our fleet sharing the same spirit for doing good, with 240’2’’ (73.2m) M/YLaurel and 155’ (47m) M/Y Loon both honored with awards related to their humanitarian work including hurricane relief projects.

Over the course of the year IYC also welcomed several new members of staff, adding to our market leading team. The global IYC office network also expanded, including a new Corfu office. A busy calendar included presence at boat shows around the world, from the Miami Yacht Show in February 2019 to Antigua Yacht Show in December 2019, and all key events including the Monaco Yacht Show and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in between.

It is always a pleasure to interact with our clients around the world and we look forward to another busy year in 2020. Thank you for your support and here’s to the next year and decade.
